Disney World consistently dots every i and crosses every t when it comes to impressing their guests. It's hard to imagine Disney being any more magical but during the holiday season, the resort outdoes itself.
In typical Disney fashion, the place gets completely decked out with holiday décor - including festive trees, wreaths and lights. But if the epic holiday transformation is not enough to ignite your holiday spirit, there are plenty of special events to do the job.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
This epic after-hours party is loaded with holiday foods, shows and rides. Guests can ogle "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade" as flurries of snow fall on Main Street USA or enjoy a dazzling display of Holiday Wishes fireworks. The entertainment choices are truly endless, so we recommend checking out the list of options ahead of time. Note: This event requires a ticket purchase.
Epcot International Festival of the Holidays
Festive eats are an essential part of any proper holiday retreat. The top spot for delectable seasonal food options is the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. This event features a variety of booths with food options from cultures around the globe. Try the Yule log in France, chocolate honey baklava in Morocco or tamales at the Feast of the Three Kings.
Candlelight Processional
Listen as the story of Christmas is retold, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and choir. The holiday tale is narrated by a different celebrity guest at each show, including such big names as Neil Patrick Harris and Whoopi Goldberg.
Travelzoo Tip: These holiday shows do not require a ticket purchase, so lines for entry start early and get very long. BUT, if you purchase a dining package, you are guaranteed a priority seat! For those people who were planning to eat out anyways, this is certainly an option to consider.
New Year's Eve
Walt Disney World is definitely a bucket-list destination when it comes to New Year's Eve (it's listed by Fodor's as one of the top places in the world to celebrate). Visitors can dance the night away at outdoor DJ parties, dine on festive, sumptuous meals and enjoy truly epic fireworks displays. More specifically, we love the silent disco party at Epcot's Japan and the exhilarating Fantasy in the Sky fireworks that color the sky above Cinderella's Castle.
