Great location and wonderful staff - friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and well appointed - everything you might want or need. The bathroom was very nice with plenty of space to put personal items. Excellent shower. One thing that was annoying/frustrating is that it took a couple of minutes for the cold water at the sink to come through - it was very hot until finally it became cold. Not sure what the problem is but it should be addressed. The only other thing we didn't like is the fact that the door to the separate toilet is opaque and doesn't close fully (it's more like a swing shower type door). We would have preferred a door that is solid and closes completely for that part of the bathroom. Neither issue would keep us from returning but think the hotel should know.

This comment relates to the restaurant, Bargello, which is located in the hotel but is independent from the hotel. Still, the fact that hotel guests like and often depend on a restaurant located in a hotel, our experience both mornings we had breakfast there should be relayed to the hotel. We ate breakfast at Bargello twice and both times we waited at least 10 minutes after being seated before a server came to our table. Waiting 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee was unreasonable, and it was particularly frustrating as there were multiple staff in the restaurant chatting and doing things around the restaurant (other than serving customers). The first morning was better than the second as when the server did come she thanked us for our patience and proceeded to bring our coffee and tea quite quickly. She was friendly and we felt she did care. The second morning was ridiculous (and the tip we left reflected our displeasure). The server took care of a table who were seated after us before she came to our table. We waited almost 15 minutes before she came to our table. No apology, no thanks for your patience, nothing, not even a smile. It then took almost 10 minutes to get coffee, tea, and orange juice. I had requested hot milk with my tea, and she brought a milk pitcher but didn't leave it and didn't say anything. She left before I could catch her and it took more than 5-6 minutes before she came back with the hot milk. While I waited to have my tea, she chatted at another table the whole time. As an fyi, this server was a woman with very long red hair she had in two braids. Beyond frustrating. Our meal finally arrived after being in the restaurant for at least 45 minutes. This was breakfast - eggs, bacon, & toast with a side of fruit. Waiting 45 min while watching lots of staff hang out in the kitchen talking & laughing and taking care of tasks like restocking glasses on a shelf was disappointing and upsetting. Had we stayed at the hotel any longer we would not have returned to Bargello for breakfast. That would have been a real inconvenience for us as we would have had to leave the hotel to find a place to get breakfast. We have both worked in the hotel/hospitality business (management) so we know how this industry works. We also know that when guests come in for breakfast they want to be taken care of quickly - get them their beverage of choice right away and take their order shortly afterward unless they clearly want to take their time, but usually people have plans/places to go & don't want to spend an hour or more at breakfast. Management at Bargello should know about our experience and will hopefully address the issues.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton Arras. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many restaurants and other attractions in Downtown Asheville. Hotel staff displayed a very high level of service throughout our stay which also stood out. Highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to rebook a stay there the next time we visit Asheville.

We had to switch rooms due to a plumbing issue and the hotel comped us a bottle of Prosecco (it was our anniversary) and other goodies and dinner at the restaurant. It was a beautiful hotel and we were treated royally! We loved it and we loved Asheville!

Great deal and value for the money through Travelzoo. At non-promotional rate, this is still a very good property, but would need to do a value comparison with similar accodations.

Great staff and accommodations. The junior suite is in need of small nesting end tables as there is nowhere to place drinks or refreshments when lounging in the outer room. Also some seating in the bedroom would be a plus. The automatic shades are a nice feature, but was showing considerable wear in our room. Nonetheless, an excellent experience because of the staff that are courteous and well-trained. Kudos to the GM.

The only suggestion would be to have the evening happy hour elsewhere in the hotel. Having it at the entrance where people are arriving for check in did not provide the best ambience. I would suggest changing the location to where the morning coffee service was. It was much more comfortable and intimate. Adding 1 or 2 appetizers would improve the experience.

We were traveling and did not get to enjoy all of the amenities as we have before. The staff always go above and beyond! I love this hotel!

Only suggestion is thicker pillows and a coffee pot in the room. The room was beautiful!

Everything was great except the windows are not soundproofed and Biltmore Ave/pack Sq can get very loud so avoid rooms on a low floor that face the main road. We had to change rooms mid-stay, but the staff was very accommodating in helping us do that
