U.S. Removes COVID Testing Requirement for Travelers

Jun 10, 2022

On Friday, June 10, the CDC lifted the testing requirement for air passengers to enter the United States. This removed one of the final barriers for Americans to travel internationally, and for international travelers to visit the U.S.

The requirement was lifted for in-bound U.S. air travelers as of 12:01 a.m. Sunday morning, June 12.

Many Travelzoo partners in the travel industry welcomed the move, saying it is likely to ease American traveler concerns about getting stuck overseas. We expect a lot of travel bookings to happen as a result of the move -- our offices are already buzzing as our fellow deal experts are planning additional vacations.

The testing guideline had been in place since January 2021. It is subject to review every 90 days, based on the COVID-19 situation or new variants. Testing and vaccination are still recommended, and may be required to visit other countries.

For travelers who are ready to get out and see the world again, here are our suggestions on where to look for the best experiences at really great prices.
