The sight of the weaving fjords of the Howe Sound against the backdrop of the mountains along the Sea-to-Sky Highway is simply stunning. One of the best ways to see the coastline is from the water, so when Travelzoo launched an offer from Sewell’s Marina we were eager to try it out.

Sewell’s Marina, based in Horseshoe Bay, has been around since 1931, so team members there know their stuff. The guides have a knack for keeping the commentary entertaining and informative, teaching about the landscape and local wildlife. We saw seals, eagles and oystercatcher birds, which surprisingly do not fish for oysters, but rather limpets or mussels.

Racing through the inlet was exhilarating. Check out our video to see if this is one for your bucket list.

What to bring: Sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera

What not to bring: A hat, as it will end up in the sea

What we loved: The padded seats and endless photo opportunities

Good to know: Don’t worry about what to wear; all-in-one waterproof suits are provided for protection

Travelzoo Tip: It gets super windy on the boat, so fancy hairstyles are a no-go.

This is a great day trip, with several tours leaving the marina daily. Find out more about this deal here.
