Give Back with the Travelzoo x Peace Collective Collaboration

Apr 24, 2020

Last chance: There are only a few days left to give back with the Travelzoo x Peace Collective collection — the sale ends Friday, May 22. Purchase from the collection, support frontline workers and enter for a chance to win the Golden Ticket before it's gone. See details below.

As travel lovers, staying put is the last thing our hearts want to do, but we're embracing it because we believe it's what's right for the greater good. Taking care now means we’ll be able to start exploring the world again soon.

To turn our time at home from a point of pain into a point of pride, we partnered with coveted Canadian lifestyle brand Peace Collective to launch #HomeTodayTravelTomorrow — a collaboration that celebrates the spirit of solidarity across our country, the towns and cities in which we live, and the places we call home.

#HomeTodayTravelTomorrow is a wearable collection featuring a limited-edition Travelzoo x Peace Collective design that delivers a powerful message we can all rally behind: Stay Home Canada. The collaborative design mimics the "Home is Canada" look Peace Collective is famous for, with city-specific versions tailored to show love for Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary. The U.S. design includes New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco

The collaborative collection features a premium-quality T-shirt and is also extended to Peace Collective's line of masks, which was recently launched when the brand shifted its Toronto facilities to respond to the crisis. The reusable, machine-washable masks are made with 100% cotton fabric and include a disposable filter.

Buying something for yourself or a loved one feels great, but buying something and giving back to those in need feels even better. That's why for every mask purchase, a mask is distributed to someone working on the front lines, and for every T-shirt purchase, three free meals are provided to a person in need from a local food bank.

With each purchase, we're also throwing in a $10 Travelzoo gift code as a thank you for staying home — use it later on a getaway or local experiences like a dinner for two or a day at the spa.

And the fun doesn't stop there. As a reward for staying home today, we're making tomorrow's travel dreams come true: each purchase receives an automatic entry into the Golden Ticket contest* for a chance to win the trip of a lifetime for two in 2021 (or when travel advisories are lifted). Possible destinations include Peru, India, Portugal or Morocco, with the final prize being awarded by a vote on Facebook.

Here's how Travelzoo fans are embracing #HomeTodayTravelTomorrow

"Home has become more of a spiritual term to me. Achieving peace and quiet of the mind is how I think of the word 'home' now. As for travel, Osaka is a destination full of culture, stories and, of course, delicious eats. Life seems to slow as you make way to absorb and connect with the stories, streets and people." Florence, @stylindiaries and @PendulumMag

"Home to me means family.  We usually make our memories when we travel, but over the last few weeks we've had some pretty memorable movie nights together, have helped celebrate birthdays with a parade instead of a party and have spent more quality time together than we ever have. I've been dreaming of where we would travel next, and so far we have been thinking about heading to Martha's Vineyard or to a relaxing resort in Mexico." Mandy, @mandy_sparkleshinylove

"This crisis has shown me that home can truly be anywhere. The feeling of home to me is a family of support that extends further than you could have ever imagined. The first place I’ll go is to my second home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Lake Superior is calling my name and I can’t wait to get out on the trails, enjoy the great eats and explore the beauty within Algoma Country." Lindsay, ivebeenbit.ca@IBBtravel

"We never knew how much home meant until we were stranded at sea and were not sure how we would get home. That first view of the Toronto skyline made us appreciate home and how much our hometown has to offer. When it's allowed, we want to explore the east coast provinces where there is stunning scenery and lots of room to spread out." Linda, retiredandtravelling.com, @TravelAtWill
