several things in the room didn't work ie toilet would keep running. desk lamp would not shut off. The rooms was small and crowded. Sink in bathroom very slow to drain, Very limited space to put personal item in bathroom because of oversized sink.

Such a lovely place to stay, with the easy access to the waterfront and downtown shops and restaurants. The mini croissants were superbly made.

Everything was really good, with two minor exceptions. The front desk staff did not readily distinguish us a Travelzoo guests apart from regular guests so we had to ask about late checkout and the food/beverage credit. This should have been automatic on their part. The rooms are large enough for king beds yet all they have are queen size in the main part of the Inn.

We ate in the dining room one night and the food was superb. For me, it was the tenderest and tastiest octopus I have ever had.........outside of Santorini Greece. On the other hand, the number of Prince Edward County wines on their wine list was disappointing, especially considering how good PEC wines have become. I did mention both of these points to the Drake staff. Finally, one suggestion for you. The coffee and scones, cookies, smore kits and slippers are standard fare for all guests. If the Drake is on offer in future, suggest you distinguish these from the benefits enjoyed by Travelzoo members.

Lovely Inn. Amazing food and wonderful staff. The room was very nice however warm and fan didn’t seem to want to run all night and could not open any windows for air. Also king size bedroom but only 1 sitting chair at the desk… no comfortable sitting chair(s)
Other Comments
Game room very nice however boxed games where not useable as pieces missing.

The Devonshire is a unique place, filled with unusual art and eclectic furnishings which were fun to discover. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was ready on time. The room had a very comfortable queen bed, a desk with chair and a chair with ottoman. The room was in the older part of the hotel (which was originally a foundry). There were windows on 2 sides. Unfortunately, neither faced the water. There was also a small alcove that was a closet/dressing area. The bathroom was bright and featured a large shower, with bespoke shampoo, conditioner and body wash in dispensers. Big fluffy towels, as well as comfy robes and slippers were provided. The room was nicely decorated and everything was in working order. We had our evening meal in the hotel both nights. The food was tasty and fresh, arriving at the table hot. The service was excellent. The pea soup and the chicken schnitzel were highlights. (There are different menu/drink deals each night of the week. On the Tuesday, there was also live entertainment.) Self-serve coffee and croissants were available in the lounge in the morning. We had breakfast at the hotel on the morning of our departure. The blueberry scones are not to be missed! We would happily stay at the Devonshire again if a similar deal was available.

The availability of dining options.

We were given a ground floor room (not usually an issue for us) that was directly underneath a staircase, adjacent to the lobby, and facing the parking lot. To say that it was loud and not relaxing is an understatement. The front desk check in and check out staff were hospitable, but those in between seemed like we were bothering them if we asked a question. I also didn't appreciate as a first-time visitor, that "perks" that are complimentary to everyone (scones, smores kits) were listed as part of the 'package' that I booked. I would've booked a different package had it been clear that these perks were available to all guests.
