Sacramento Attractions
At the confluence of the Sacramento River and American River is Sacramento, capital of California. At that meeting place is Discovery Park, which is over 300 acres for recreation. Many visitors start in Old Sacramento, a National Historic Landmark District and State Historic Park that plays homage to California's beginning with the Gold Rush of 1849.
In addition to outdoor activities, Sacramento offers many museums to explore, from the California State Capitol and Museum to the Wells Fargo History Museum to history, art and railroad museums. Restaurants here are diverse too, with tastes from New American eateries to fine dining spots.
