I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Will definitely be staying here every time I visit the city. The room was spacious, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was large & beautiful! I expected a typical small, New York City, room. Was so pleasantly surprised! Lovely accommodations and the location was ideal. Right outside your doorstep is Grand Central Station. Not to mention the fact, we were able to take advantage of the option to ride the Uber shuttle that takes you directly to LaGuardia airport for $18 per person. The pick up location is right there at Grand Central Station, a 4 minute walk from the hotel. Doesn’t get better than that! But the best part was the customer service at this hotel. I was impressed from the moment I got there starting with the gentleman who opened the door and welcomed us to the check-in and check out process. They could not have been more friendly and more helpful offering assistance before we even asked. But this is the best part. Unfortunately, in my exhaustion of running the city all night long, I left a pair of valuable diamond earrings on the nightstand of my room. I did not discover this until 1 PM after I had checked out at 8:30 AM. Needless to say it was very upsetting, and I called the hotel immediately asking if the housekeeper had found them. they took my information, told me they would search the room immediately and get back to me by phone. In less than 30 minutes, I received a phone call that the housekeeper did indeed find the earrings and turn them in at the front desk. Really!!! Who does that? Her honesty and integrity blew me away. Her name is
Lilian Olivo. In this day and age of so much distrust and dishonesty, it is sad that we have to marvel about Someone would be so honest and have such integrity. Lilian is that person & deserves recognition from her employers. I asked to meet her when I returned to the hotel and was so touched by her humility & genuine happiness that she had found the earrings and was able to return them to me. The rest of the staff witnessed this exchange and was equally happy for her. 70 Park Avenue Hotel is the only place to stay in NYC!

We had a great time. The hotel is far enough from major attractions to be relatively calm and quiet but close enough if you don’t mind walking (around 20 min). We were upgraded to a super room (large per NYC standards) which was very attractive, clean, and comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time!!

Check-in at 70 Park Avenue was pleasant and efficient. Staff were helpful and advised me that the hotel is part of the IHG group, something that I was not aware of when making the reservation. (I am an IHG member). The location of the hotel is exceptional and the king bed room exceeded my expectations. Beautifully decorated and relatively large for a NYC hotel. The bedding, linens and toiletries were very high end, adding to the luxe feel of the stay. Situated on the 11th floor, I had a great view of the Empire State Building. The room and hotel were quiet, comfortable and well maintained. Moreover, a great value...thanks, Travelzoo!

I usually do not take the time to do survey but the EXCEPTIONAL service provided by the staff at 70 Park Avenue Hotel was absolutely amazing. They were friendly, helpful, accommodating and the ENTIRE staff were very pleasant: doorman, desk clerks, maids...just so welcoming, thoughtful, and sweet. If you are looking for a boutique hotel with an intimate touch, helpful interactive staff, soft touches, beautiful amenities, and LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...this hotel is for you. Bedding, and bathroom amenities were no doubt 5 stars.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Exactly the location I needed; a nice walk to Broadway, Times Square, and places to eat. Room was cleaned daily and smelled nice once you walk in. Staff was very friendly and having a doorman was a special touch. Towels in bathroom were thick and the robes in the closet we used every day. Getting an elevator was quick, which is not the case in larger hotels. Bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet since Park Ave isn’t so busy. We will definitely be back, hoping Travelzoo will feature this hotel again because the daily service charge was waived.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our group was on a first name basis with the front desk and doorman. Absolutely outstanding. Hotel was clean and there was even a gym. Location was perfection. Grand Central station was two blocks away and Times Square was a 15 min walk. Would return.

Great location close to everything by walking or subway but away from the noise and crowds. Room was comfortable with space for luggage and clothing. Elevators were very quick. Ice water in lobby was great for the very hot weather. Love staying in a smaller hotel where there are no big crowds of people gathered in the lobby. Staff was very friendly. Booking through Travelzoo we had waived amenity fees which was great.

Only one thing was off, but it’s a really big thing: I DIDN’T GET A RECEIPT. When I wasn’t handed a paper copy, I assumed I’d get one by email, but no receipt has arrived. Not in my spam folder, either.
Front desk folks were otherwise very helpful and pleasant. The doorman was exceptional! Five stars to him.

The rooms were clean and relatively well appointed- missing a coffee maker/kettle and the basic bathroom amenities like Q-Tips- but there was water which is nice. The room had good space, plenty of outlets for charging, luggage rack etc. Bed was comfy. Very quiet. The hallways are a bit dark and dated. Front desk staff on checkin were fantastic. Would recommend for the price it was excellent value.

What a fantastic experience! The rooms were pretty large (especially the rooms with 2 beds), the bath products were lovely, the front desk staff were extremely accommodating, the towels and robes were fluffy and high quality, the furnishings and decor were fresh and modern, the doorman always greeted our group with a smile and a tip on how to get from place to place, the bed was comfy, and there was even a yoga mat in each room. The location is convenient--only a couple of blocks from Grand Central, and walking distance to Times Square, Empire State Bldg, etc. It's a boutique hotel with no bar or restaurant, but there are plenty of options nearby. We got a fantastic deal from Travelzoo on a total of 4 rooms!

When I ask Alejandro, the evening desk person, about the subway train to the Brooklyn Art Museum, he told me there was no train, only a bus. When I told him I knew the train stopped right in front of the museum, he told me there was only a bus. Without any further response, he left the desk and went into a back room. Fortunately, the other desk clerk answered my question about the train (which I took the following morning), but it seemed quite unprofessional just to walk away from me without saying anything. He should not be working with guests.

The mini fridge was broken and we found out because the food spoiled in the fridge. We told the front desk and there wasn’t anything they could do. The room was smaller than expected. I don’t think the bed they gave us was a Queen like advertised. We got the twin it felt like.

The only negative would be that the bathroom/shower has highly scented products which we weren't able to use so had to purchase a bar of soap to use while there.

The hotel staff was outstanding - friendly and helpful. Our mini fridge wasn't working when we arrived and they sent someone up with a replacement so quickly. Same for our request for a coffee maker/kettle - speedy service was great! The hotel location is fantastic - easy to get just about anywhere and a quick walk to Grand Central, NY Public Library, Bryant Park. The rooms are small and tired (holes in the wall where pictures used to be, etc.), but fine for us - we didn't plan to spend a lot of time in the room anyway. Also - our room was on an inside courtyard or something - couldn't tell since the windows didn't open and the glass was opaque - so if you need a view or natural light, ask for one of the outward facing rooms. We quickly got used to it and liked that the room was quiet. Overall for the Travelzoo deal price, it was a great experience.

The walls of this hotel are paperthin. We had a very sleepless night and listening to our neighbors through the wall having a very good time !! The traffic from the street was also very noisy. If you are wanting a good nights sleep, this is not the place for you. Doors banging all night, and overheard conversations. It was a bit like being in a goldfish bowl. The bed was uncomfortable as well. We left feeling exhausted.

My first time using Travelzoo and staying in a Manhattan hotel. I was put in the top floor with a nice view of the Empire State Building! Staff was very courteous and prompt with my belongings for luggage day holding before and after checkin/out. 70 Park Ave is very close to bus and subway stations, and a nice walk to shops throughout the midtown area. My only word of “caution” is that the walls are quite thin, but the guests on the other side of me were a family with small children. Nothing too crazy, but could definitely tell when they got excited.
