This was our third visit to the Hyatt Place Waikīkī. The location is perfect; just a short 1 1/2 block walk to the beach and all of the action. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Housekeeping is efficient and quiet. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and the breakfast buffet workers truly hustle to keep everything replenished and clean. With all of the hotels in Waikiki, this is the one that I repeatedly choose. The employees make us feel welcome and like family.

My family and I had a great time at Hyatt Place. The best part of our experience was Angeline from the front desk. She went out of her way to give us a map of Oahu, noted points of interest that would be good for kids, and made food recommendations for us. Can't wait to come back and visit again.

The hotel was average and clean. The staff members were welcoming, kind, and helpful. I was VERY disappointed with the pool and the surrounding area. The deck was fine for dining on the nice buffet breakfast, but not enticing for laying out, and enjoying a pool experience. The pool couldn't have been more basic; a small rectangle!

We enjoy our stay. The location was great. Close to everything. The staff was nice.
On the opportunity side, the restaurant name was different on our voucher than in real life. A little confusing at first.
The towel system made us wait for it. Not convenient and a waste of time.
I will suggest having a beach towel by the pool.

My husband fell walking up the very steep driveway incline that is in front of the Hyatt. He broke his leg, went 911 to the ER. Back to hotel in leg brace and excruciating pain. Flew home two days later. Admitted to hospital. Sent to rehabilitation facility as he cannot bear weight on affected leg. Developed a cellulitis - very painful.
Flight home was so painful for him even with upgrade to 1st class. Total traumatic experience for both of us.

We paid for a city view, but also had a view of the mountains and the ocean! The daily breakfast was excellent, many different options each day. We also enjoyed the $5 per day snack bar credit and the $75 meal credit provided through Travelzoo. The $20 rather than $35 per day was also a bonus. The location was excellent, a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach. Close to all transportation options and easy Uber pick-ups as well. We didn't hear any other guests through the walls. It was very quiet except for some street noise at night. The AC was a blessing on hot days! The elevator was a bit of a wait at times, but being on the 7th floor, we sometimes just took the stairs. Valet parking was always full, so we parked in garage across the street for only $35 per day. Overall, I loved staying hear and would go back and also recommend to others.

Our only complaint was the food vouchers we received ($75 and $5 daily) were not explained well enough so we did not get the benefit. According to the hotel you must use the $75 first, and then the $5 daily kicks in. We ended up leaving money because we did not use it fast enough

Room was clean but small. Location to the beach ideal. Beach chairs were mostly wobbly at best or broken in some cases. View was weak, looking over some trashy apartments or other hotels, electrical wires and polls right in our view towards the ocean, only a little piece we could see. Elevators are extremely slow during mornings and evenings. Breakfast was a madhouse as of people hadn't eaten in days. Breakfast food plentiful and ok. Nothing to right home about. All around staff was polite and good overall; little slow and their tiny bar and cage.

Essentially...everything. The property is old and dated, the pool small and uninviting. The overall service was subpar, the breakfast that's included was awful. The room smelled stale and unpleasant, the carpet felt grimey where we found food wrappers and a broken zipper indicative of the room not cleaned thoroughly or properly.

The staff were great and made us feel welcome. The rooms are clean, but small. There’s not a separate sitting area, like most Hyatt Place hotels. It’s a short 2-3 block walk to the beach, The hotel has beach chairs, but they’re kind of old and not the greatest. That’s really the only downside. The breakfast got a little monotonous for 10 days. They had scrambled eggs, breakfast meat and waffles or French toast sticks. There’s also bread, bagels, cereal, vanilla yogurt and fruit.
