Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast, while nothing hot, included delicious pastries, yogurt, variety of juices, etc. and the staff was friendly. The happy hour wine was a nice benefit. Biggest issue was the location of the room. The Travelzoo description did say rooms "may" have a view of the courtyard (and we requested a high room which was slightly more), and at check in we were offered a chance to upgrade to a harbor view at an additional $75 per night (!!) before even seeing the room we were assigned. We declined because we didn't anticipate spending a lot of time in the room, looking out the windows. We were also offered an upgrade to a king bed (from queen) at no additional charge, which we did accept. But when we got to the room on the 4th floor (not that high), the view was literally the HVAC equipment. Very disappointing. But we kept the blinds closed and just went outside to see the water and the Bay Bridge, which was great. Just not what we had anticipated.

Cool vintage YMCA decor since it was the former original location and the gym next door and bike offerings were nice, although we didn't do either one.

We had a very nice, comfortable stay at Harbor Court, Hotel. The staff was especially helpful and friendly. The location was absolutely perfect.
Other Comments
I would have enjoyed a smart TV in the room. Also, it was difficult to figure out how to turn on and off the lamps in the room. Otherwise, our stay was perfect.

We were visiting our adult son in San Francisco for the weekend and wanted to stay somewhere close to good public transportation and things to do. The Harbor Court filled the bill almost perfectly. The location on the Embarcadero across from the Ferry Terminal is hard to beat -- very close to major public transportation hubs, beautiful views, easy access to everything along the Embarcadero... just wonderful. The hotel itself was quite nice and you get full access to the adjacent YMCA, complete with pool and sauna. We did not take advantage of the free bikes -- next time I'd definitely put aside some time to bike along the piers. We splurged for the view rooms and had a lovely view of the bay, bridge, and Embarcadero. Small but comfortable rooms with a great bathroom/shower. The only (picky) negative was that the included continental breakfast was almost exclusively carbs (pastry, fruit, yogurt, juice) -- no cheese, meat, boiled eggs or other protein-heavy items you often find in "real" (European) continental breakfasts. We would definitely stay here again. The TravelZoo deal was a nice little bonus (~$20 off the daily resort fee and a free bottle of wine).
