They were undergoing construction which is why they offered the deal. It was literally walking through a consruction zone. But we enjoyed ourselves anyway. The included bathhouse and breakfast made it worthwhile.

Just a heads up….Gurneys is a construction site. You will not have access to a beautiful lobby, or fire pits. Unfortunately for us the pool was also closed for a “deep cleaning”.
However….. our room was beautiful, spring for the ocean view. The staff was great, and the one restaurant that was open was really very nice. You cannot beat the location, but alittle away from town etc.
Just a shame we weren’t told about the construction since it’s pretty much the entire resort.

The resort was overflowing with children! When we checked into our room, we immediately asked to change rooms because of the kids running around on the floor above us. We were not able to sit by the pool at any time over the weekend because there were no empty seats. There were about 30 kids overtaking the pool at any given time, with parents seeming to not care about supervising. We decided to use our $60 breakfast credit towards the buffet on the first morning ($45 per adult, available 8-11AM). We arrived at 8:50 AM and there was barely any food left at the buffet. We were told by 5 different servers, then the manager, that the food would be replenished with a fresh batch of everything. 30 minutes later (at 9:30 AM) the chef decided to close down the buffet without any notice. We then ordered off the menu, food was very expensive (which we knew in advance) with small portions. The second day, we ordered breakfast off the menu and the same exact items we had the day before were about half the size (and the same price). When we arrived at the spa on the first day, we were told they ran out of robes and we should have brought the robes from our room. In general, we were hoping for a romantic relaxing weekend getaway and this definitely was not the case. The weekend getaway was definitely not worth the money or the trek to Montauk. Save your money and go somewhere else for a fraction of the price and a much better experience.

I felt the spa is overpriced. The craftsmanship in the rooms is lacking, handles loose, lamp fixtures sticking out of walls. The fixtures are cheap. Many things did not seem planned out in rooms- i.e front door to bathroom door collide. The shower took a very long time to heat up. Raphael is a great bartender. Restaurant staff is excellent, and food was good. Some spa staff was great. I do not like being forced to valet my car. Wellness center class teachers excellent. The bathhouse was VERY sloppy and crowded. They need to abide by the rules of 1 hour after session. They need more staff to keep on top of cleanliness. The design of rooms and stairs could be better. Spa treatments were great. Water was plentiful which was appreciated.
Missed the hot cider in the lobby this year.
Staff at front desk last year seemed way more friendly.
Hoping the shut down will bring better things to justify the prices!

We had a great time at this resort! Loved all the amenities and activities this resort had to offer. The house keeping service and all the workers were always so helpful and friendly. They made our beds twice the same day and replenished everything without us even asking. They even folded all our clothes! Upon arrival Lori at check in welcomed my little ones with stuffed animals. Jessica from front desk was also very helpful and answered all my questions and was very accommodating. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We had breakfast and dinner there and everyone enjoyed their food. Portions are perfectly sized. Drinks were good as well. We enjoyed the yoga/pilates class with Kat. Cannot wait to come back, thank you for making our stay pleasant.

It was great bargain for off season trip. Good service and accommodating with the crib. My only complaint was that the room was so high up for the amount of luggage we had. I didn't realize how obstructive the ocean view was. Other than that, beautiful spa and food is top notch. Service is always friendly.

The bath house, fitness, and pool were great and views were incredible throughout the resort. Really nice decor and plenty of places to sit and enjoy it. It was really nice being there on the off season since it wasn't crowded. Our room was small and did not have a fridge (the one there was full of items to be purchased) or microwave to use. Our room's ceiling also leaked from rain with huge puddles in the bathroom. I called maintenance at night and made it through the last night with towels but disappointed the hotel itself didn't acknowledge that we had to deal with it.

Everything was taken care of. Our view was gorgeous and we brought our dog along for $75 a night. She had her own plush bed and a patch of grass on our walk out ocean view room. it is a bit of a walk on terrain that is relatively steep to get to the hotel and back but the perfect weather we had made it a pleasure walk. The restaurant was fabulous! One night we ate at Scarpetta, the service was attentive and the food was delicious! We ordered room service several times and the food was top-notch and delivered very quickly. You don’t have to handle cash at all because tip is included. All in all we had an absolutely stellar experience! To top it off, we were celebrating our anniversary and they had a bottle of chilled Chardonnay waiting in our room with a personalized card. That touch was really sweet.

We had timeshare with Gurney's before the renovation so we've been going there for many many years...when we checked in, they gave us a nice room but it was extremely far away from the resort so we were not pleased with the woman at front desk. She then showed us one more room, which was rather small. We then spoke w/a different person at front desk and he managed to find another room (she told us there were no other rooms) and it was right next door to our old timeshare room. We were much happier with him than the woman with the short hair, who said she was the office manager? All in all, everyone was very nice and accommodating especially Carlos who drove us to town and back & who helped with our luggage! He made our trip much more enjoyable :)

Gurney's was absolutely beautiful. The restaurant on site is definitely pricey, but everything we ate, down to the bread and butter, was outstanding. They had fantastic amenities, although when we used the bathhouse, the heated bench and hot pools were all not functioning properly, which was a bummer. Other guests mentioned being there the night before with no issues though, so I would not hold it against them and would absolutely go again.

Gurneys is definitely located in a prime location. That and the staff are wonderful. The value? Not so much. For this price (without our Travelzoo discount), we've stayed oceanfront in Oahu at Turtle Bay in a gorgeous, spacious cottage of our own. Additionally, they should put guests with dogs in the bottom rooms instead of directly above guests who are looking for peace and quiet.

This was a great three day getaway with me and the family. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, ambiance, and salt water pool. I also participated in getting a massage with CBD oils which was one of the highlights of my trip. I love how the staff was attentive to every want and need expressed during our stay. Room service was great and the meals served tasty and delivered in a timely manner. Staff was very helpful when asked questions and answered any inquiries promptly! At check in we were given a room that was not a full ocean view and it was not maintained at all. The shade on the light is badly stained and lots of ware and tear on the bathroom door because of water damage at the bottom. The walls are marked with stains and the wood is damaged on furniture. We moved out rooms 3X for the 2 nights.The last room was very nice, staff and service was excellent. Seems like the room is a gamble !

Visited Gurnrys for a one night stay in March. Nice getaway spot on the ocean by Montauk. Hotel restaurant was clean and delicious. Our waiter John was very accommodating.
Went into the spa for a swim and made use of all the additional amenities…the four different whirlpool tubes. Plus the steam room and sauna. Clean and well maintained.
Walked the beautiful beach even on a cold day.

For the most part the staff was very nice, bartenders, wait staff, cleaning crew, valet, etc. Bedding was very nice. Ocean view is priceless. Saltwater bathhouse was wonderful.

We've used the Travelzoo deal for this resort in the past. This time it was only available thru March, the last time was through April. In March, nothing is really open in Montauk so very limited on dinner and things to do options. Last visit our room was oceanfront on the water, as advertised, this time the room they were giving us was overlooking their parking lot & main building, we had to pay $75 extra per night to be in the same building we were last time, overlooking the water. I had also called prior to arrival requesting minimal stairs to our room due to my husbands bad knees, that initial room they were putting us in had 3 steep flights to get to it. Parking lot was overcrowded, hard to pull in & out.

I must admit that a few of us were a bit surprised since Gurney's advertises as a Saltwater Spa but it certainly is not the Gurney's saltwater content that was in the facility before. Also, they no longer have the "Roman bath" nor the Swedish shower jets. I guess this is the price one pays for the "renovation" of the supposed Saltwater experience.

On checkout morning, I asked for the check and a "takeout" box at Tillie's before my checkout at 11AM. I was by myself and was told by the host...he said when my breakfast came out he would bring me the box. OK- no problem with that but then I waited from 10:20 AM until 11:00AM for 2 poached eggs! When I entered Tillie's there were very few guests but the waitress nor Franklyn returned. I love Gurney's but I was totally disappointed by such a lack of regard after I did tell him that I was checking out.

Gurneys was absolutely beautiful and exactly what I needed! This was such a good deal from Travelzoo as this hotel is usually insanely expensive so ive never been able to afford it before. We had a really great time!
We enjoyed the hotel as we like to go during the off season. We had drinks and dinner in the restaurant which was very good and expectedly pricey. Our only disappointments was that the activity fee ($91.00) included turn down service and WIFI in the room. We received neither. We had to go down to the main reception area to make phone calls and send & receive emails. Perhaps at least a portion of the activity fee should be refunded.

Reduce the price of renting the Igloos. $100 + $100 F&B minimum is a bit expensive for 2 hours.

The staff, service, and food were all amazing. Worked very well to never have to leave the resort! We would love to be back if the prices were a little bit better.
