Our AC wasn’t great the first night, we called in the morning and had a prompt repairman. AC fixed and great night’s sleep! Loved the pillows but the mattresses were a little too firm. Overall a great stay, we enjoyed Spring Training games nearby. Scottsdale had lots of dining available!

Overall it was very nice. There are a few things broken and needed to be fixed but the maintenance people are very attentive and helpful. Communication with housekeeping needed to be improved When we notified the housekeeping needs at font desk more than 24 hour in advance, housekeeping did not show up.

We've scheduled a post Labor Day seven day stay at first Gainey, now Sonesta Suites for the last four years. There are some good things about the property and one very glaring problem that needs to be improved.
1.The location is great, within walking distance to a mall with several dining options.
2. Rooms are spacious and adequately cooled in the 100 degree+ heat.
3. Morning breakfast provided, while not a gourmet feast offers essentials like eggs, bacon/sausage, toast, cereal. juice, coffee, etc.
3. The pool is a wonderful oasis and a respite from the hot dessert sun. It's beautifully landscaped with palm trees and other vegetation. Loungers and towels are plentiful and there are two cabanas with tables.
Now for the elephant in the rooms and hallways. The carpeting has seen much, much better days. It's soiled, worn and downright filthy to the point that you don't feel comfortable walking in your bare feet in the room.
Sonesta bought the property from Gainey a couple of years ago, and I personally think they'd like to milk as much revenue as possible before making a large capital expenditure replacing carpeting. But, it is sorely needed.

We had been wanting to visit Scottsdale & couldn’t resist clicking TravelZoos great deal! WOW! Fabulous resort! Staff is over the top AMAZING. Ronald at the front desk is fabulous and the definition of hospitality! ! Comp breakfast every morning is actually very good, with lots of options! We ate on the patio every morning! Don't leave your plate unattended on the patio - the resident black bird loves eggs! HA! Evening cocktail hour provides comp wine, beer & snack foods. The chip & dip is delish! They always have ice water & cups available in the lobby. Bar in the courtyard is open and serving your favorite drinks!
The courtyard area is magnificent & feels like you’ve been swept away from the outside world - PERFECT! The suites are spacious & well laid out. Loved it! That shower!! Ahhh!! We’ve found our new vacay spot in Scottsdale!
Our opinion is that carpeting in the suites could be updated ( they still felt clean) & pool water was cloudy all during our visit. Boo! We are looking forward to visiting there again tho as we really enjoyed our stay!!

This was our second visit. We enjoyed everything. This time we requested a pool/courtyard view which is much nicer than the rooms with a parking lot view. The staff is so friendly and helpful and we made friends with lots of the guests too. The pool and Jacuzzi are delightful. We also took advantage of the fitness room. Enjoyed the plentiful breakfast buffet in the morning. Also, the complimentary wine and beer happy hour was fun. Rooms are great with a full kitchen and living room area with sofa. Highly recommend!!

Overall, I had a pleasant experience. However, there were a few issues with my room that I would like to bring to your attention. The room was spacious, which I appreciated, but it had an unpleasant odor. The carpet was visibly soiled, and the couch was in a state of disrepair. I felt uncomfortable sitting on it and had to cover it with a sheet before using it. Additionally, we encountered a problem with the shower. Every time I used it, the bathroom floor would become completely wet. Despite reporting the issue to the maintenance staff, the problem persisted. This made taking a shower an unpleasant experience, as I had to step into a puddle of water every time I entered or exited the shower.

I booked 2 nites using Travelzoo special total for $225.76 with tax. Extra 34.20 for resort fee totaling $259.96. This is a gift to my 90 yr old inlaws, so I called hotel and paid resort fee 2 days before the trip.
When I heard from my inlaws that they were charged again for resort fee I called the hotel to tell them itis already paid. The man answered talking fast not listening to what I am saying which made me to talk loud. My wife took the phone and explained to him. His response was " He sholud not be on phone". Come on! You can not even read and understand that the resort fee was paid, still try to overcharge 90 yr old couple. I think he should not be answering phones.
We travel all over the world and know how certain type of people interact that way.
It is not a good business practice and customer service, is it?
The only thing you should be aware of is the $15 charge for using Mastercard. We were not told this otherwise I would’ve used a visa

I was at the hotel 6 years ago when it was the Gainey Suites and absolutely loved it! When I received your email that it was $99 per night I booked it. I wished we could have stayed longer but it was our last night in Arizona. The front desk manager and the bartenders were friendly, accommodating and fun. I love that the rooms are suites with a separate bedroom and have a full kitchen. The courtyard and garden is beautiful and it’s very relaxing to sit out there. The breakfast is as very good. I’m disappointed that the happy hour is only 1 hour and that there are only a few cold snacks. When it was the Gainey Suites the happy hour was longer and there was hot food. Aside from that everything else was great. I’m excited to come back if I can get a good deal.

My son and I went to kickstart summer with a staycation. We enjoyed the pool, breakfasts and happy hour. Breakfast different the 2 mornings we were there with French toast and several other options... fresh fruit, toasts, oatmeal, eggs, bacon , juices pastries, bagels, and even some GF options. The other morning all the fixings for breakfast burritos were an option. The area was kept clean and well stocked. Being cash to tip. The pool was a refreshing temperature and not too busy.
