Resort was great although the rooms were small. We stayed 3 nights and our incidentals (meals, drinks) exceeded our lodging costs.

The biggest negative was the food. Once at the Resort, you are a captive audience. Lunch at the Brauhaus, dinner at the bar and dinner at the main restaurant (Harvest) were fair to awful. The best of the worst was Harvest. The brats at the Brauhaus were overcooked and cold; Burgers at the bar were well done (requested medium rare) and Trout and Pork (recommended by the Chef at the Brauhaus) were fair. I expected so much more from this Resort.

Unfortunately, we hit the coldest fall days of the year and it even snowed on our first night. It was all we expected, but it was difficult keeping our cabin warm during the stay. Taking the numerous trails was high on our list of things to do, but the weather limited our excursions. We took our dog and everyone was very attentive towards her. The dinner we had in the bar was very enjoyable. Our one dinner in the main dining room was disappointing mostly due to a grumpy service person who didn't care that the chicken I ordered was overdone and dry . I guess I could have demanded that something be done but I didn't feel like making a fuss.

If you’re going because you’re a Dirty Dancing fan then it was a great experience! If you’re going because you want a top notch resort experience, you may be disappointed.

Our shower had hair on the walls that did not belong to us. The toilet was almost right up against the wall so it was a tight fit if you weren’t skinny. They only had the main restaurant open so we didn’t have a choice to save money on breakfast. The ice machine on our floor didn’t work and they didn’t have any snacks in the vending machines. The staff was all amazing and the scavenger hunt was so much fun. It was worth it just because I’m a die hard Dirty Dancing fan.

Great little gem in the mountains and as a fan of Dirty Dancing, I loved seeing where different scenes were filmed. The rooms were clean, but could probably use a little refresher. A little dated (headboards/furniture). Also love the hiking and pool on property. Restaurants and food were good. Friendly staff.

It is a cool and interesting property. At this point there should be a name change to Mountain Lodge since the lake is absolutely non-existent. Rooms are cool in an eclectic way but plumbing is dismal. Each day a shower included a "shower dance" with water temperature changes several times and the hot water is HOT! Water pressure is a bit dismal though. There are many maintenance items around the property that need to be addressed and as is the case everywhere with today's society, it seemed as if all of the staff you came in contact with were new. Most were at least moderately friendly. Travelzoo should be more clear about the add on fees and taxes which add up to around 30% more than the voucher price. It was also clear the desk staff were not overly happy about the voucher since at check out the clerk said, "oh you are one of those Travelzoo people with an unpleasant sigh. Oddly enough even with the noted items being the truth, it is still unique and worthy enough to go back but the voucher is a must or it would not be a good deal at regular pricing. Side note, Pizza was far improved since last time we were there. Very good.
