Loved the tour and learning about their biodynamic farming. I was disappointed in the bottle of wine we received with the package. Very poor. Overall the wines were to "light" for my taste.

Welcome atmosphere. Beautiful in the fall with the change in colors. Great view at the top of the hill. Excellent wines at a great value. Only packaged food items available.

We really enjoyed the tram tour and learned so much about how their bio-diversity practices help to enrich the soil and reclaim water. And we traveled through the vineyard, tasted a few grapes from the vine, and sampled some delicious wines. Dave our tour guide was knowledgeable about the winemaking process and viticulture, amusing and clearly was proud of the history of the winery and the climate and nature surrounding the land. This was a special tour on a beautiful fall day and we were lucky to get the Travelzoo voucher and make this part of our day in Sonoma.

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful grounds, landscape and vineyards. Especially the tranquility of the beautiful surroundings and enjoyable tram tour and wine tastings. The staff was friendly and welcoming and we look forward to returning. We purchased a Travel Zoo voucher and we felt it was worth every penny!

It was a blast! The winery was pretty and not overrun with tourists. The tractor tour was a fun way to see the winery from different vantage points. We had a great time!

Wonderful and informative tour. Our guide, Dave, assumed we already knew something about wine and winemaking so he focused on what makes Benziger different, producing biodynamic wine.

Everyone was friendly and it’s in a beautiful but isolated location. Don’t let that scare you off but instead recognize that you can make a full day in the Glen Ellen area.
Note: we only wine tasted so we didn’t try any food and I think the food options were limited. Instead we went down to the Mill in Glen Ellen for a delicious and relaxing lunch (gluten-free options available).

I had never heard of Benziger Winery. I have been to many wineries and have to say that Benziger is my favorite of all. I was extremely impressed with Bob, our guide. He explained biodynamics that the winery uses. Nothing is wasted, everything is organic. There was not one wine sample that I did not like. It was so hard to choose which wine to purchase to take home. I enjoyed my time at the winery so much that I joined the wine club. I can’t wait to go back in May to pick up my wine. I could have had it shipped but I would rather go back for another visit. Thank you Travel Zoo, had it not been for you, I would not have ever known about this hidden gem.

During our six day vacation we visited 8 wineries in Sonoma and Napa of which Benziger was the final one and the nicest and most enjoyable. We definitely saved the best for last.

Despite the cold weather and rain, the people couldn’t have been more accommodating to everyone on the tour. The tour was cut short a bit only because some people were getting real cold, but again, all had a good time. I gave a 1 star to the question regarding the “food” category because there is no “not applicable button (which you need Travelzoo). =0)

Even though we live in the area, Dr. Bob (our tractor driver) was so much fun that we became ‘club members’ that day. We wanted to make sure that if staff members get a commission on each ‘member’ they sign up, we wanted him to get the credit.
