My friend and I drove up from Oakland on a day of very nice weather. We enjoyed the Caesar salad - it was a huge portion that they split for us and we barely finish it. We chose salmon and friend chicken sandwich for mains and both were delicious. We had Pinot Noir and Syrah wines. They were excellent and the pourings were generous. The restaurant was quiet and comfortable and we were able to thoroughly enjoy our time there.

The food and service was good. We were seated in the lobby just outside 38 North. We were on elevated seats and table which was not very comfortable. But maybe it was because we were a party of eight?

Our visit to 38 North at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa exceeded our expectations. It was a reprieve from the rain and also a beautiful sunny day prompting all Travelzoo voucher holders to visit on the same day/time. This caused delays in staffing attentiveness towards the end of our meal. We enjoyed the delicious food and great wine selection and will go back.

The room in which we were seated was quite chilly. A draft comes in through the front door, which was often swinging open. We sat with our coats on.

Very nice lunch

I met my cousin for lunch. The 38 North space is very dark. Fortunately our waiter, Dylan, was able to seat us in the restaurant next door which was much lighter and more cheerful. Turned out we were the only customers between the two restaurants! We shared the generous and very good charcuterie board, and then the salmon and skirt steak entrees--both delicious. Lovely wines.

I wouldn't choose to have a meal in the 38 North space because it is so dark. But being seated in Sante and able to eat food from 38 North worked for us. Waiter Dylan was friendly and attentive.

The broth in the onion soup was watery. The steak was just little pieces put on top of the pomme frites. The sauce was delicious but not on top of the potatoes

They said the couldn’t offer the salmon due to being out, but offered it two hours later on their dinner menu. This felt dishonest and was the entree I intended to order due to food allergies.

The server was very pleasant and courteous. The lobby of the hotel is quite comforting with a fireplace .

The dining venue is in the bar ,we had expected white Linen service for what we were charged . The bar was exceptionally cold , we asked the server to have the heat turned up and her response was the management locks the thermostat so it cannot be adjusted. We left our coats on the entire time and one employee was wearing a full length coat while working. The charcuterie came out on a small plate although it had plenty of cheese it lacked the proper amount of bread we should not have had to ask for more . It did not have any eye appeal at all rather boring for $39. The Steak frites were even more boring , it came out Luke warm and we sent it back and the it came back to the table at medium instead of medium rare we had asked for. The flank steak was sliced and placed atop enough frites for 4 people . That was the whole dish… a small sliced steak and enough frites to make the plate look full . It would have been better to have had the steak over mashed potatoes with vegetables. The wine Auter Chardonnay was ok but for $24 a glass should have been at least. 6 oz pour , it was perhaps more like a 4 oz. After lunch we had a glass of Cline Chardonnay and that pour was 6 oz.what gives with disparity ..like the hotel is just cheap. This lunch was worth no more then the $65 promotional price . The cold room really removed any semblance of ambiance . The gratuity is automatically charged at $170:which is what apparently the bill would be without the promotion. And the tax is also based on the $170 and not the $65 charged. Gratuity $39 and is listed as a service charge.and tax of $8 . I would not visit this restaurant again .

We were nicely greeted for lunch. The menu had many good options — wine, starter and main entrees. The meal was delicious and a nice treat. Looking forward to returning soon.

The food and service were exceptional. Our server was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. We enjoyed every portion of our meal and we’re very happy with our experience.

Food was excellent. Service was great. Beautiful setting and lobby was decked out for Christmas. This was a fantastic deal and Sonoma is such a great place to visit.

They ran out of the Salmon I was planning to have. food was just ok, not really worth it even at half price. My wife had the oysters and just ok.

The $66 service charge was added (and we bought more wine and paid surcharges for steak) we then unwittingly paid a tip on top of the surcharges so it added $100 to the bill. Out the door for $350 for four sitting in the bar. Next time a la carte by the pool.

Was very disappointed that the Salmon dish was unavailable. Menu is limited. Was surprised about the additional fees, but was okay with it mainly because of the great service provided by our server even though it took a little while to get our food.

It was fantastic! The young woman that was our server was soooo pleasant and efficient! Food was great and we are definitely going back!
