Lovely old hotel with good Ambience. Staff prepared to go the extra mile and excellent throughout. Room a little tired !

Hotel was much better than expected. Saw bad reviews. The hotel was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a deluxe room and it was really spacious. Good options at breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and service was efficient. Dinner was tasty. The inn building itself was very characterful, and the village of Hurley is idyllic.

We stayed in a Deluxe Room, which are in a separate annex away from the main building. This suited us fine, but if you want to stay in the Olde Bell inn itself, you'd need to book one of the other room types.

Lovely walks nearby. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

In a beautiful location, garden is great in the summer months for outdoor eating and drinking. Staff lovely, lots of choice for breakfast.

Room needs lots of TLC due to the age of the building, windows need urgent attention, due to a old building not many sockets.

The Olde Bell is an ancient inn which has a lovely relaxed ambience. Like many hotels nowadays it seems understaffed but the staff who served us were working very hard and were all friendly and welcoming. Our room in the annexe was a little shabby in places but was large and very comfortable. The deal we had through Travelzoo was excellent value for money.

Our room was not in the Hotel, it was in separate building which felt totally apart from the hotel and really was not a good feeling. I think this part of the Hotel was for Travel Zoo Bookings or last minute booking and pushed far away as possible!!!!! Also the room was very very hot, which was really uncomfortable! It was only 23 degrees outside and with very little ventilation and two poor fans, which one was supposed to be aircon unit. God knows what it would be like if it was hotter it would be totally unbearable! I actually upgraded to the Luxury Room, top room available and I felt this was not that Luxury room at all, very disappointed. we had to ask for large towel as only one was issued and our bottle Prosecco part of the deal was not in the room, I had to go back to the Hotel as there is no Phone in the room. Top it off, breakfast was very poor. breakfast is being served from 7-30 to 10-30 we got to breakfast at 10AM and there was very little left over on the cooked side, what was left was lukewarm at best! Even on the fresh fruit virtually nothing left and again what was left was not nice! Attention to detail could have been much much better and had to ask for various things. You could get some food cooked individually which took ages, also by 10-30 they just wanted us out of the dining area. If they had every we wanted and made food in good time we would have probably been finished by 10-30, just felt they were pushing us out.... if I was Travel Zoo I would think twice about using this hotel again for Future promotions. This was my first time I stayed away with my new partner and I wanted everything to be perfect, I can honestly say it did not meet up to expectations. There is so much more I could complain about but I think you have got the message!

For the price we payed (£69 inc breakfast and a bottle of fizz) it was great for what we wanted to do....walk to Henley and Marlow. The overall cleanliness and state of the hotel left a little to be desired. Our room was ok but, but the stairs and windows were filthy. Tables in the dining room were very sticky. Food was good. Staff were pleasant if disorganised. The buildings are very old and need some investment. It has the potential to be beautiful but I guess lacks the investment and tlc it deserves.

We were in room 2 lovely room with balcony views over the large garden. Large powerful shower and comfortable bed. Sat outside until sun went down eating outside

Not really! We thought it felt grubby, run on a shoestring budget and very disorganised.

Standard of cleanliness in hotel, not enough staff, generally very disorganised and it also felt grubby. First room we were shown had a terrible smell from drains, and the toilet was very dirty. So I was given key to a second room which smelled as if dogs had stayed in the room (i.e. not the deluxe room we paid for) and it was still in the process of being cleaned! The third room we were given was the bridal suite and even that felt grubby, with hairs on bathroom floor and on dressing table stool. Tea-tray was very basic with only two tiny pots of UHT milk for two people! Breakfast was very chaotic with one person working so items running out, about 8 tables not cleaned up so meant I had to ask for table to be cleaned so we could sit down. Items such as tea, coffee, milk, hot water, bread, plates, all running out and all customers having to ask for them to be replenished. Told on check-in that our room would not be cleaned as we were only staying two nights. This meant the tea tray was not replenished at all during our stay and we had to ask for toilet rolls on the second day. We’ve previously been on a lot of deals with Travelzoo and they’ve all been excellent. This is the first time we’ve been very disappointed and so would not return to this hotel.

Very welcoming. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Would have given more stars for the room, which was very large with a ginormous bed, but I felt it was let down by the en-suite bathroom which contained a cracked tile, some mould and ancient fittings.the carpet in the corridor outside was ancient and looked to have had bleach spilled on it.

Loved it jfrom the moment we walked in - an unexpected upgrade to the best room namely the bridal suite made the day. Good food and set in a lovely village.

Beautiful old hotel with lovely accommodation and secure parking. The very large garden is an added bonus. Our room was very well appointed and the facilities were excellent. We ate in the restaurant and although it’s not an extensive menu our food was very good. Would definitely stay there again.

We had breakfast included and there was plenty of hot food available in the buffet section with a choice of other hot plates. The only criticism was that the continental breakfast - the content of which looked lovely - was not covered and there were quite a few flies on the cheese, ham and croissants. Other people noticed too and consequently no one ate it. Such a shame.

For a 3* and the price we paid it was very good. The food was nothing to write home about but the Sunday dinner was huge! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and, whilst some were lacking in knowledge they made up for it in enthusiasm and correcting issues. A special mention for Martin in the waiting team and Amy the GSM.

Hotel very tired needs renovation. We had a luxury room so called. No shaving point n the bathroom which to me is Basic. The carpets in the Manor House where we had our room were a disgrace . Needs a complete revamp.

The Ye Old Bell was ideally situated for travelling around the Maidenhead area. The superior room was excellent. The food was very good and we enjoyed the free bottle of prosecco. There was ample car parking. The Bell had a large garden. Thoroughly enjoyed the break here.

Room was lovely, in a beautiful old building. Great need, very clean everywhere in the hotel. The en suite needs an extra towel rail and definitely some form of frosted glass or meet curtain. The food offering compared unfavourably with the one from the pub a couple of hundred metres down the road, both in terms of price and quality. Service in the restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast, was a bit below par. Location was very good.

Upon arrival, there was no one maning the reception, we had to go and find a member of staff, who didn't know how to book someone in. We had previously booked in for Sunday roast, but this was very expensive at £24 for just 1 course. Plus the roast pots were so hard, I couldn't eat them, the other veg was passable, but the gravy was so peppery, you couldn't taste much else. We then went off to our deluxe room. This was very large, albeit despite lots of windows, not much lighting. The bathroom was large & good shower. The bed was comfy {thank god}. However the room was extremely tired, really needed a fresh paint job. We were supposed to get bottle of prosecco in our room, it wasn't there, so we asked for it later & got that sorted. The room had not been cleaned very well at all, that was very disappointing, there was dust in so many places, it was soon obvious the cleaner had rushed. The shower gel only had half an inch of gel. It simply had not been replaced. We only just had enough for 2 night stay. The breakfast was not particularly hot, and not enough selection. Sad really, as this was supposed to be a special treat for my hubbie and I felt embarrassed. There was some friendly staff, but they do need to retrain, as most of them don't know their job roles, they all seemed to muck in on everything. But this is due to them being so understaffed, which is a shame for both staff and paying customers. There were other issues too, but I think you've got a few listed to think about before suggesting this place to others

Travelzoo offer used by a friend and me. Hotel very accomodating in arranging a room with two beds - we did pay extra for a deluxe room. Staff very helpful in suggesting places to visit.

Good breakfast but surprised no jam/marmalade/honey for toast. Advised if none there then they had none left?!
