It was an unfortunate arrival time. We rang for service at reception and was answered by an overstretched member of staff who was serving cream teas and drinks as well as manning reception. One or two members of staff at dinner and the following morning were less than 100% friendly . The second day was better served. The manager served our final breakfast and was great.

We had a very enjoyable stay. We paid for an upgrade and the room we had was very good, lovely comfy bed although would have appreciated a summer duvet at this time of year. An excellent find in a beautiful area of Somerset. Everyone at the hotel are welcoming and friendly. Rooms are clean, comfortable and hot water in abundance! Can recommend the cooked breakfast and our evening meal was fabulous. Compliments to the chefs!

This was our third time at Combe House Hotel and as usual the staff were first class. It's in a beautiful setting in the Quantock Hills with fabulous walks right on the doorstep

It’s always the staff that make the difference. These did!

From a bit of a problem on arrival with a misunderstandng about our room (which was quickly dealt with by the Owner Gareth) to leaving after our 3 day stay we had excellent value for money. All the Staff were pleasent and the food was spot on. We tend to be traditional in our culinary tastes e.g. Char grilled Chicken and Steak tending to be our favoured options. We also tend for health reasons not to have starters or sweets but those we saw on other guests plates looked very nice!! The location of the hotel is very unique and the approach "road" a bit of a challenge but that simply added to the charm of the Hotel. The interior decor was just excellent and a lot of care has gone into interior decoration and fittings. W loved the break and totally relaxed which was the object of the exercise. A big thank you to all the Staff - and Gareth!

A very comfortable stay in a warm and cosy hotel full of character. A good choice of cooked breakfasts, excellent Sunday roast and afternoon tea. Very convenient for exploring the Quantocks.

The room size was great. The breakfasts were good and plentiful. The cream tea was divine. But above the material benefits was the exceptional friendliness of the staff.

A bit awkward to get there - when approaching from Bridgwater on the A39 it is probably best to continue to the next road into Combe House rather than take the narrow lane that starts at a lay by and climbs over the Quantocks and then down again.

Our room was cold as the heating was not working. A power cut...not the hotels fault but was dealt with very badly....leaving us on our own the whole night at the hotel with no heating etc.

Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful surroundings. Menu was the same each day so little variety. Very good food but I thought rather small portions. The Friday fish and chips were excellent

Great food annex was very tired in corridor but room ok. Very dated bathroom needs updating hot tap didn’t work very well and jacuzzi bath looked scratched and grubby

If you want to get away from it all, then Combe House Hotel is the place. Quiet, quirky & lovely surroundings. Room was comfortable, afternoon tea was yummy & evening meal good value. Certainly worth a return visit

Location great for walking in the Quantocks.

Carpets torn and worn. Paint yellow and in need of a refresh. Mould on the ceiling in shower. Menu quite limited and the same each night. I was expecting better for the price of the rooms on their website and glad we had a special deal price.

The welcome and service were excellent. Whenever we needed something the answer was always yes with a smile. Nothing could not be done! The food was excellent - they concentrated on quality rather than extent of the menu and well worth it. Thoroughly recommend it.
