10 of the best family-friendly hotels in Cornwall

25 Apr 2016

With over 400 miles of coastline taking in some of the country's best beaches, bountiful seafood and attractions like the Eden Project, Cornwall is rightly an out-and-out favourite with families. And with many families expected to stay at home rather than go abroad this summer, we're expecting Cornwall to be busier than ever. Below we've put together a selection of our favourite places for family getaways.

Bedruthan Hotel & Spa

Where: Mawgan Porth
Why it’s great for families: Not just one of the best family hotels in Cornwall, the Bedruthan (below, and main picture at the top of the page) is frequently namechecked as one of the finest in the country. As well as award-winning restaurants and a spa with ocean views, it has an Ofsted-registered kids' club, table football, a jungle tumble ball pool, assault courses and a Wii games room. Guests can book surf lessons with The Surf Club Cornwall, based at the hotel. Lessons are on Mawgan Porth beach in front of the hotel. Minimum age is six and lessons are available all year round.

Why it’s great for families: Condé Nast Traveller describes this family-friendly seaside pile as “superbly luxurious”, and it gets automatic points on the board for being the inspiration for Toad Hall in The Wind in the Willows. Kid-friendly amenities are a cut above too. There are childcare facilities for every age range, and for each day of your stay, Fowey Hall offer up to two hours’ free childcare in the Ofsted-registered Four Bears Den.We particularly like the breakfast club idea (available on Sundays and selected days during school holidays), where your kids get whisked away for breakfast by a friendly nanny while you curl up under the duvet.
