And the Winner of the #TravelzooFeeling Competition is…

05 Aug 2015
A few weeks ago we celebrated the launch of our first-ever TV advert in the UK by asking you to send us pictures and videos of your very own #TravelzooFeeling.

The response was phenomenal. There were some weird ones, some wonderful ones, some with monkeys - even a handful of completely naked ones. It seems there are a million and one ways to express the #TravelzooFeeling and we thank you all for doing your bit to share them with us.

And now the time has come to unveil the winner.

But before we get there, we’d like to just share with you some of our favourite runners-up. We’ll count back from 10 to the winner at No1.

10. We loved this entry from Neil Hedge, who clearly had the TravelzooFeeling before even setting off. Bonus points for his caption: "All packed & ready to go. Next stop Bear'muda."

9. This one was sent in by Nicola Stagg. We're assuming that's not her in the picture, but we agree with her when she says: "That race to get your swimmers on & to be the first to plunge into the pool, after enduring the drive/flight/drive from the UK! The best feeling EVER!"

8. Here's Emma Wilkinson showing off her levitation skills: "This is my #TravelzooFeeling picture - sums up my holiday to Portugal!"

7. This is the look of pure joy that immediately precedes the pain of an impromptu belly-flop. Thanks to Caroline Elmhirst for sharing this one.

6. Laura King's photo says it all, so she keeps her caption short and simple: "Romantic getaway #TravelzooFeeling".

5. Paul Ratcliffe says this is the first holiday he's had for 20 years. "Having been a carer for my parents and lost them both, a holiday was a rare thing and Corfu was great." At times like this, you need a stage to express your #TravelzooFeeling...

4. Helen Lockhart has her own particular way of expressing the #TravelzooFeeling. "Sometimes you need to escape to the places that remind you of who you are," she says.

3. "Ta-daaaa! I have that #TravelzooFeeling," says Joanne. We can tell, Joanne...

2. "Safety is never silly," says Nick Phipps, who sent us this pic from his holiday in Vilamoura. Never, Nick?

But the winner is...

The cryptically named SwimmerGuitar, who sent in this slightly-crazy-but-thoroughly-brilliant video. The level of dedication here is pretty extraordinary - not least from whoever it is that's standing in the freezing-cold sea. The vote was more or less unanimous - once you've watched it, we think you'll see why. Congratulations to SwimmerGuitar, who now gets to choose any travel deal from this week's Top 20!
