The Parent Trap Survival Kit

30 Jun 2015
At Travelzoo, our aim is to search for solutions that give all UK families access to an affordable and stress-free holiday. We also want to ensure we help those families who manage to get away this year to enjoy their holiday as much as possible, starting from the moment they reach the airport.

Recent research we carried out showed nearly one in six parents forget to pack at least one essential item for their kids on holiday. And while half of parents say they’ll be taking extra care to pack the right things to ensure a more relaxing holiday this year, it's easy to slip up.

We'd like to help, so we’ve drawn on the experiences of our Travelzoo deal experts, along with thousands of our members, the parent bloggers and the travel companies we work with, to compile the definitive list of the essential stuff parents need to pack for their holiday journey.

We call it the Parent Trap Survival Kit and it contains:

  1. A cuddly toy
  2. Colouring books
  3. Crayons
  4. Snack for on the plane
  5. Baby wipes
  6. Lollipops (take off/landing for sore ears)
  7. Puzzle book
  8. Headphone splitter (so that children can plug in to the same device without sharing headphones)
  9. First aid kit (plasters and antiseptic wipes)
  10. Educational travel game (sticker book of flags of the world, for example)
But what do the real experts think? Watch the video below to see what Arthur (aged four) and Amber (two) think of our Survival Kits. You'll also get to hear their thoughts on holidays in general... and dragons.
