Itinerary
Your North American adventure will start with three deluxe nights in Calgary. You'll get to attend one of the world's largest outdoor event. The Calgary Stampede is a Western-style extravaganza that attracts a million visitors each July. Watch rodeos, chuckwagon racing, concerts, and parades.
Then, fly to Vancouver for further two nights. The city is framed by mountains along the Pacific Ocean. You will have ample time to explore inviting neighbourhoods and a thriving food scene.
Next, embark on a week-long Alaska cruise calling at:
- Juneau… the capital of Alaska, and the starting point for optional excursions to Mendenhall Glacier, which is an impressive 13 miles long.
- Skgaway… this historic gold-rush town is set against a backdrop of emerald forested mountains, and is a great spot for eagle sightings.
- Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier scenic cruising… sail down the 30-mile-long Endicott Arm Fjord, known for being a breeding ground for harbour seals; pass tumbling waterfalls, granite cliffs, and floating icebergs; and see the impressive Dawes Glacier, standing at over 600 feet tall.
- Ketchikan… close to the southern tip of Alaska, and the gateway to Misty Fiords National Monument, the area has a rich Haida and Tlingit heritage. "There is no better place in the US to see totem poles in all their craning, colorful glory", says Lonely Planet.
Your cruise will conclude in Vancouver. From there, you'll fly back to the UK.
