Itinerary
Your holiday will start with two nights in Naples, the original home of pizza. As part of your package, you'll go on a tour along the Amalfi Coast. You could sip Italian coffee in towns favoured by the international jet-set.
Next, hop on a train to the capital, Rome. You'll spend a further two pre-cruise nights in the 'Eternal City'. Throw a coin the Trevi Fountain, or watch the world go by as you rest on the Spanish Steps. The immense art collection at the Vatican Museum is also worth a visit.
A convenient transfer will whisk you to the cruise port on day five. Embark Norwegian Epic for a Mediterranean voyage, calling at:
- Naples... you could use your shore excursion credit for a guided tour of the ruins of Pompeii. This sprawling site is one of Europe's most compelling archaeological sites.
- Barcelona… see Gaudi’s architectural influence, including the detailed cathedral and colourful Parc Güell. Wander the winding cobbled streets of the Gothic Quarter, or stroll along Las Ramblas and pause for tapas and sangria.
- Cannes… with glitzy yachts, slick bars, and a constant smattering of celebs visiting the French Riviera, "the wealth and glamour of this city cannot fail to impress", says Lonely Planet.
- Livorno… make port at this charming town. You could explore vineyards in the rolling Tuscan countryside. Or, visit Florence and Pisa, Renaissance gems under the Italian sun.
The cruise concludes in Civitavecchia, and you'll take a UK-bound flight from Rome. Cruise port to airport transfers are included.
