Itinerary highlights

  • Day 1... arrive in Zagreb, then transfer to the Opatija Riviera to board MV Dalmatia.
  • Day 2... sail to Cres, one of Croatia's largest and least developed islands. Thick forests and olive groves cover the island, along with remote hilltop villages. Dock in Cres Town and head ashore for a guided walking tour. The ship will moor here overnight.
  • Day 3... continue to tiny Susak, just 4 sq km in size and completely car-free. Golden beaches and herb-covered hills give Susak a wild, unspoiled island charm. Next, cruise to Mali Lošinj, famous for its crystal-clear water and healing sea air. Dock in Mali Lošinj's pretty harbour, filled with pastel buildings and Venetian charm. Go ashore to visit the Garden of Fine Scents, home to 250 native medicinal plants.
  • Day 4... onwards to the small, flower-covered island of Ilovik. Continue towards Rab, the greenest and best-known of the Kvarner Islands. Rab offers jade waters, forested hills, and a red-roofed old town. Moor overnight in the scenic harbour.
  • Day 5... explore Rab's walled old town, crowned by four striking Medieval bell towers. Discover Byzantine churches, Romanesque towers, and elegant mansions on a walking tour. You'll then have the afternoon at leisure. Perhaps visit the House of Rab Cake, birthplace of the island's famous almond dessert.
  • Day 6... cruise to Goli Otok, a former prison island, for a short weather-dependent visit. Explore haunting ruins before continuing to the historic island of Krk. Join a guided walking tour through Krk's old town of monasteries and medieval towers. Travel to Vrbnik, a village known for Žlahtina, a white grape grown only on Krk. Visit a family-run winery to sample local wine before returning to Krk for the night.
  • Day 7... in the morning, sail to Opatija. This 19th-century resort town was favoured by Habsburg royalty. Join a walking tour to discover Opatija's elegant villas and imperial history. The ship remains moored here overnight.
  • Day 8... transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
