Bit of a problem with my booking as I had previously had to cancel twice due to hospital appointments. So not simple to rebook but eventually got there. They sent confirmation and had my massage wrong. I sent email to let them know but when I arrived massage still wrong. It was sorted eventually. Great place as I knew not as good as Crow wood spa in Burnley as they have a pool to swim in..however I managed to get the use of their health club pool for part of my time.

The voucher was for 2 hours in the spa/thermal journey, lunch of a sandwich, panini or Buddha bowl, cake and tea or coffee and a 25 minute treatment. We got 3 hours in the spa. We were told we had £24 each to use on the bar menu and we got a 50 minute treatment!
Booking was a nightmare. No direct line to the spa, sitting in a queue while people book hotel reservations. First day after 20 mins it was answered and after discussing the deal I was told the computer had frozen and it couldn’t be booked, however the details would be passed to the spa and they would book and ring me the following day to confirm. No one phoned so I called them and yet again sat in a queue for about 20 mins. When I explained the lady asked me to phone back the following day! I said no and complain out the time i had sat waiting in a queue over the past 2 days. I was told she was new and didn’t know how to take the booking so I asked to wait until someone could. I eventually booked the spa at 10, lunch at 1 and treatments at 2.30. The following day I missed a call from the hotel who left a voicemail stating they had changed my booking to arrive at 12 and moved everything thereafter. I rang back and sat in another queue taking my time to sort this booking out to over an hour in total! I was given no explanation but my booking was put back to the original times.
We turned up, service in the spa was really good, although they could do with some larger robes for those XL people. The spa is stunning and the facilities are amazing. It was clean and fresh water was always available.
Lunch was a different story. We opted to go to the bar to eat and were told to take a seat where we were completely ignored. After about 15 mins I saw a waitress give another table a menu, I tried to catch her attention but another table got to her first so I went and got my own menu. We ordered drinks which didn’t arrive for about 20 mins for 2 bottles of coke. The waiter that eventually took our order was lovely but over 50 mins had passed before we got any food. I am glad it was included in the price as £24.50 for a steak pie the size of one you would get in a pie shop was a bit extreme. We went to the bar on leaving to explain again that we were on a deal and were asked to produce the vouchers, but we handed those in at the spa on arrival. I showed the vouchers on my phone but the young person behind the bar was not impressed.
We did have a lovely relaxing treatment and we did get value for money, but the deal wasn’t exactly as sold, booking was terrible and the food and food service wasn’t very good.

Great spa facilities at the Swan and not overcrowded so could relax. Wellness massage was excellent and afternoon tea filled a gap.
