Itinerary 

  • Days 1–2... arrive in Bassano del Grappa and head to Venice for a guided tour.
  • Day 3: spend the day soaking in fairy-tale scenery in Bassano del Grappa.
  • Day 4... visit Ferrara, known for its Renaissance art and culture. Next, travel to Bologna to admire bustling piazzas and Medieval towers. Onwards to Pistoia, a pretty town with a striking historic centre.
  • Day 5... spend the day in Florence. Uncover this romantic city's attractions with a guided walking tour.
  • Day 6... start with a trip to Pisa, home of the famous Leaning Tower. Continue to Lucca for a guided walk.
  • Day 7... today begins with a visit to Siena, with time to explore its Medieval districts. Afterwards, travel to Rome, Italy's ancient capital. Along the way you'll call at a winery in one of Tuscany's best grape-growing areas.
  • Days 8–9... explore Rome. Discover the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, and the entrance to the Colosseum with a tour. Next, visit the Vatican and take in breath-taking works of art in the Sistine Chapel.
  • Day 10... discover Pompeii, an ancient city frozen in time. On then to Salerno, where you can wander along the seafront boulevard.
  • Day 11... head to Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast. You'll then travel to Gragnano, renowned for its pasta. Visit a local pasta factory and watch a cooking demonstration.
  • Day 12... spend the day journeying south to Sicily. Call at a mozzarella farm in Calabria, in the 'toe' of Italy, for a tasting experience. Then enjoy an afternoon in Cosenza, before boarding a ferry to Sicily.
  • Days 13–14... relax on the beach in Giardini Naxos, explore Greek ruins, and admire views of Mount Etna.
  • Day 15... pay a visit to the Baroque town of Acireale en route to the airport.
