Hotel details
The Residence Mauritius is in Belle Mare, on the island's east coast. The hotel is set on a mile-long stretch of white-sand beach, surrounded by 25 acres of tropical gardens. There is a luxurious feel throughout. Receive scented towels on arrival, and see the white-gloved butlers who are always on hand.
This the first hotel on the island to introduce a heated pool and spa. Note that supplements apply to treatments. Other facilities include a yoga studio, tennis courts and a fitness centre.
A range of watersports are also included, such as Hobie Cat sailing and waterskiing. The hotel can arrange glass-bottomed boat trips, and has a PADI-certified dive centre (supplements apply).
Included meals are served in the main restaurant. Enjoy a mixture of buffet-style and set-menu dining. There is a second poolside restaurant serving light lunches, and a seafood restaurant (supplements apply). The hotel also hosts a weekly beach barbecue and Mauritian cooking classes (supplements apply). The bar serves afternoon tea and evening cocktails, and puts on nightly live entertainment. The beach also has a pop-up bar and a new outdoor cinema.
Colonial Garden View Rooms have a separate living area and a large marble bathroom. Take in views across the tropical gardens. Amenities include a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, a mini bar, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a safe.
