Hotel details
Your trip begins in Rome, where you'll stay at the Palladium Palace Hotel. It's next to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and a short walk from Rome's sights. You'll be 30 minutes' walk from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Circus Maximus, and more. If you don't feel like walking, Rome's central train station—Roma Termini—is less than five minutes' walk away.
Take in panoramic views of the Eternal City from the hotel's rooftop terrace. There's also a lobby bar.
Next, board a train to Venice and make your way to the Abbazia Hotel. Once an abbey, it features 19th-century architecture and is surrounded by private gardens. The hotel is in Venice's Cannaregio district, one of the city's most authentic areas. Marco Polo and artists Tintoretto and Titian all lived here.
The hotel is 30 minutes' walk from the Bridge of Sighs and St Mark's Square. We recommend heading off the beaten path on your way to Venice's most famous sights. Go shopping on Strada Nuova and admire the Ca' d'Oro Museum's Venetian Gothic architecture. Next, cross the Ponte Chiodo, one of the last remaining bridges in the city without railings. You should also take a peek down Calle Varisco, the narrowest street in Venice.
