About the hotel
Relax at the 5-star Pestana Royal, perched on a clifftop above Praia da Formosa beach. The oceanfront promenade and beach is a short stroll away (via steps).
Take in views over the Atlantic from your lounger at the large outdoor pool, complete with a swim-up bar. Dip your toes in the heated indoor pool, or book a rejuvenating treatment at the spa (chargeable). You can work out in the gym, play tennis, or try mini golf.
The hotel features four restaurants and two bars. Your all-inclusive package covers meals at the São Lourenço Garden Terrace restaurant. You can reserve a table twice per stay at other restaurants for no extra charge. These include Madeiran, Asian, or Italian à la carte venues. Minimum 7-night stay required.
The quaint town centre is a 10-minute drive from the main entrance. Stroll through lush public parks, sip a coffee al fresco, or taste Madeiran wines. Wander enchanting streets lined with shops and historic buildings—such as the 16th-century Sé Cathedral. Take a cable car to the hillside neighbourhood of Monte, and the Botanical Gardens.
