The only issues were the noise of the extraction unit and the bright light coming under the door at night time. So not a very good sleep

I liked the hotel and our room was in a very good position, everything was clean and tidy. The whole holiday was spoilt by the dinner upset. I was unaware if there is a manager available that I could have spoken to. But I would be very interested to hear from them. On a neighbouring table, the couple mentioned the situation to Fawlty Towers.

The first evening I ordered chickpea curry and the waitress said it was replaced by lentil curry, which was fine as I explained I’m a vegetarian. After waiting an hour and a half for my dinner to arrive, I was informed there was no chef and the waiter could not find the vegetable curry! I then reordered an alternative meal but asked why they didn’t mention earlier about the situation. The attitude of the waiter left a lot to be desired and bordered on rudeness. The meal when it arrived had apparently been cooked by both waiter and waitress. The next evening I asked if the chef had returned and was told all was well in the kitchen. This time it appeared to be the receptionist who was serving. Unfortunately, after waiting an hour my three bean chilli arrived, I asked the waitress if it was vegetarian as it looked like a meat chill, she said yes and left. I tasted it and was shocked to find it was in fact meat chilli. I had to go and fetch her and explain, she asked if I was allergic to meat - really that is not the point I choose not to eat meat. I waited another 20 minutes to receive the ordered three bean chilli. By this time I was past being hungry and it was too later to eat. I was offered a free desert but decided not to take up that offer.

Hotel was empty. 6 people for dinner and 8 for breakfast. No atmosphere. Shame as it has a lovely bar and restaurant. Evening meal lovely. Breakfast was Luke warm cooked and poached eggs see through! Good selection for price. Room fairly small but comfortable bed and large TV. Bath very high to climb in to shower, but modern. Felt an inconvenience to staff sitting around chatting when trying to check out. Shame, as it could be a good place to stay.

Clean, spacious bedroom with a good en-suite bathroom that had modern fittings in good condition.
Rooms, especially the doors, didn’t appear to be very well soundproofed, but we were not disturbed by any noise at bedtime.
The bar area lacked atmosphere and as there was a party going on with music, the bar was flooded with that noise. There were no other quiet areas so we decided to take our drinks to our room.
Parking was easy and free which was great.
Breakfast was very good, plentiful and there was plenty of choice. Better quality bread would be a suggestion.
At the weekend, if breakfast could last until 10.30 or 1-am, it would be very welcome.
More could be made of the courtyard and the outside seating area, which we only discovered as we were about to leave.
There staff at reception were very helpful and polite The bar and breakfast room staff member was helpful, but a little more warmth and engagement would be beneficial. These little things make an impression on guests.
My only reservation would be staying the night when there were other events going on which might disturb the peace of the place. The noise from such events might keep us awake even though the event on Saturday night ended promptly ar 11pm.

Our only complaint was at breakfast the plates were cold and you could only have scrambled eggs.we reported the cold plates on Saturday morning but was still the same on Sunday morning
