Why We Love This Hotel
- The hotel was built to resemble the de Havilland DH.88 Comet racing plane. The winner of 1934 England–Australia MacRobertson Air Race was a local icon. The hotel's interiors were designed to reflect the glamour of this golden age of aviation.
- The Element Bar & Kitchen serves an all-day casual-dining menu and extensive choice of drinks. The new signature menu is available 12–2:30pm and 5:30–9:30pm.
- Hertfordshire Sport Village is next to the hotel. Guests at The Comet get free use of the gym and 25-metre pool. Other facilities include tennis, squash, and badminton courts (supplements apply).
- Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is a 25-minute drive away. You can learn all about the making of the Harry Potter films. The tour includes authentic props and original film sets.
- The cathedral city of St Albans is around 10 minutes' drive away. As well as the cathedral, you can visit the Verulamium Museum. It tells the story of one of the largest cities in Roman Britain.
