Why We Love This Hotel

  • Rutland Hall featured in The Times' 100 Best Places to Stay in Britain in 2023. The manor is set in 65 acres of "gorgeous parkland", with views across Rutland Water. Blossoms, the hotel's restaurant, is a "triumph" of design and "excels at simple, direct flavours".

  • Rutland consists of two market towns, Oakham and Uppingham, and more than 50 picturesque villages. Indulge in some antiquing or admire local art galleries in Uppingham—a 15-minute drive away. Oakham is five minutes' drive away. Visit the Rutland County Museum and Oakham Castle, one of Britain's finest examples of Norman architecture.
  • The Rutland Water Nature Reserve is 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. This internationally renowned sanctuary is home to more than 25,000 waterfowl.

All of the staff were very friendly and professional. We had a Cosy Room which was on the small side as expected but it did suffer from condensation.

Beautiful setting, pleasant room with very comfortable beds and a great bathroom. Really good breakfasts in lovely surroundings. The only thing which would have improved the stay would be brighter lighting in the room, especially for reading.

We paid for an upgrade to a deluxe room with views of Rutland Water. But were disappointed to only see a glimpse through the trees.

Room was lovely and high tech except for the shower which let it down

Everything was lovely. Easy check in, great room. We enjoyed the complimentary bottle of prosecco. We booked the swimming as soon as we arrived and had a great hour swimming. There is currently no steam room or sauna but were told this would happen later in the year. The food in the restaurant was superb. The only thing that let the weekend down was checkout. There were lots of problems with people's bills and only 1 member of staff who was competent to sort them out. We waited almost 30 minutes as I wanted a copy of our bill. Although the bill was correct we had an additional £50 taken from my account.

Excellent location would go back again. Food very good but very pricey for what you had on your plate. Because there isn’t any competition locally the hotel charges top dollar. Not side dishes available.
