Enjoyed our stay although it was a long way to get to our room which was on the top floor and made it difficult for my husband who is disabled. It was my fault I should have rung and told them

One thing I was not happy about was when looking at the wine list I saw 3 prices thinking the last was for a bottle and ordered one But when signing for it later found the price for a bottle was on a different page therefore a lot more expensive. I didn’t have my glasses with me but I think all prices for the Same wine should be together on the same page.

The building was very tired in places. Drab and dated decor. Lack of servicing of room - it didn’t happen. Room maid dumped requested fresh towels on the bed without knocking the door. Noisy fridge in the room and we could hear the noise of a boiler and the upstairs room’s floorboards too. Garden was not as well kept or tended as expected or as the hotel information stated.

The hotel is perfectly situated for walks and enjoying the countryside and the coast. To be able to walk through the beautiful hotel grounds to the small cove was a real treat (despite February weather). Definitely worth the extra cost to have the room with balcony - gorgeous views. Location, grounds are beautiful. Bed comfortable. Chef 2 course meal was nice but not outstanding but didn't guide on allergens. Front of house (one person Suzanne) did apologise for poor communication and short comings and our expectations not being met.
Other Comments
The communication we provided up front was acknowledged but not managed by the hotel regards it being my husbands 50th birthday celebration and my food intolerance. The hotel conveyed they run two separate systems, reservations and bookings and clearly two aren't joined up, hotel was drabby and needed a decent clean in places. Staff stretched and run ragged but amazing at their jobs. Room was ground floor terrace not balcony. Our room was small and smelt of dogs, we quickly realised we were allocated rooms for dog owners, housekeeping needed to clean again to get rid of the dog smell, carpets also not clean. The coctail bar, not manned and needed a good clean. No gluten free, milk alternatives or cereals or yoghurt or plant based options available at breakfast despite conveying 1 week before booking and upon arrival. Disappointing experience for my husbands 50th. Establishments would do well to recognise that Travel Zoo isn't just about great deals, it's inspiration on locations, convenience of someone else having explored packages and thr hard work taken care of and the visit l, by getting basics right will likely yield return custom, it's nit just value for money, its much more and shortcomings are Disappointing on every level when doesn't meet expectations. Limited menu and didn't guide on allergens. Staff clearly don't talk to eachother, are stretched and extremely pressed for time. Little free choice on dining options for both evening meal and breakfast.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location with lovely gardens with plenty of seating outside if the cornish weather allows.

Very little choice on Menu, very over priced, not cooked well, lamb breast overdone and chewy, Sole just had a burnt taiste, sautéed new pototoes (which we had to pay extra for) burnt. Waited along time to eat and then given the wrong starter, so had to wait again. Drinks expensive, breakfast beary warm.
You could hear people talking in the next room, and other noises waking you up. They added £10 to our bill for tips, surly this is up to us? Neither of us have felt the need to complain before but did feel on this occasion we should, so we did about the food twice, but all we got back was they valued our opinion!

Hotel Meudon is a beautiful, intimate hotel with amazing staff. It is fabulously situated nestled at the top of a valley with wonderful gardens leading down to a gorgeous private beach. There are lovely views from the hotel with various places to just sit & chill with a coffee or more. The gardens would be lovely to sit in, but it was a bit too chilly for that his time, so we sat inside in comfy chairs overlooking the beautiful gardens & beyond to the sea. The food was excellent, & again, the dining room had gorgeous views over the gardens. The gardens are a delight with Camellias, Rhododendrons & Azaleas out in full bloom whilst we were there, plus some speciality plants too. The staff went above & beyond to ensure our stay was excellent -my friend has mobility issues & the staff were very understanding and did everything possible to ensure she had the optimum experience whilst at the hotel. We cannot praise them enough. Location is also amazing, with Trebah gardens 10 mins drive away. These are fabulous. Nat Trust Glendurgan Gardens are also 10 mins away, plus coastal walks literally on the doorstep.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights (Sunday & Monday) in late March, first concern was the availability of car parking. A nice friendly lady checked us in and escorted to our room (25) wigh balcony garden view. Room was well presented and warm with a clean ensuite with large walk in shower, all functioning well. 2 good nights sleep as it was very peaceful. Evening meals were very nice in a pleasant dining room with polite and friendly staff. Breakfast was served in the same room and in the daylight there were views out over the gardens down to the sea. Any criticism would be the slow service from the bar in late afternoon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had perfect weather to enjoy the gardens, the beach and walks in the area but only gave 4 stars for location as without good weather you would possibly be car dependent .
All the staff were friendly and helpful but service was a little slow at times.
Our room was nothing special but clean and comfortable which are the two important things in my view. However it was noisy! Snoring from next door and very creaky floor boards from heavy footed guests up above.
Value for money? Drinks quite expensive.
None of these minor points spoilt our visit, we had a most enjoyable and relaxing stay and the ‘untamed’ gardens are just lovely. Thank you.

There are lots of people who give this hotel positive reviews which are probably true, but there are issues here. We booked a two-night deal through Travel Zoo, which included a glass of Prosecco. We arrived at around 3:30, after checking in we were shown to our room, by someone who was clearly the handyman, still dressed in his working trousers and tool belt, he was very helpful and showed us the facilities of the hotel, but he didn’t know when the bar opened except that it would probably be very soon. We unpacked and took the long walk through the impressive garden down to the beach. On return at 5:00 the bar wasn’t open, but the helpful handyman said he would get someone. After a further wait, the receptionist brought the Prosecco, to us in the lounge as the bar was still locked, saying that the bar attendant had been very busy serving people in the garden. We could see the garden, there was just one couple there! The bar attendant did arrive wearing an apron that clearly showed she had been doing food preparation.
Next day we went out for the day returning at 4:30 to find our room had not been done. We tried to ring reception from the phone in the room, but there was no directory and interference made it impossible to use, so walked down to reception where we were told that housekeeping was an ‘all day’ service, we explained we wanted to use the room now, but could they come at 6:00, we were told no, that they would be finished by then. We were also told that we could have asked for our room to be done earlier, but of course we didn’t know that it wouldn’t be done by 4:30.
The evening meal was good, and our deal included £30pp credit in the restaurant was the cost of two courses. However, the waiting staff were clearly new and had to come back as he couldn’t remember our order and still forgot the side dish.
Breakfasts good enough, but you have to book a time to eat, we would prefer the flexibility of being able to choose when to eat.
Overall impression
Negatives - Staffing is inadequate. Bar stock is limited, no draught beer or slimline tonic. Furnishings and décor would benefit from a makeover (Our personal view) No information in room regarding hotel facilities, fire instructions (other than a map on the wall), room service or local attractions.
No lift to top floor rooms.
Positives – Got a free upgrade to room with balcony on our arrival. Room was clean enough, a reasonable size and well equipped. Gardens are very impressive and the private beach a valuable asset (weather permitting!)

Try the cocktails! Young Max is a credit to the hospitality profession.
Both Charlie & Abby also couldn't have been more 'can do' & accommodating. No reasonable request was too much trouble. Take the deal & spend the money saved in the bar!

It spoilt the trip for us.

Perfect apart from the weather. The staff were all wonderful - from the cleaners, restaurant staff to the manager. Somehow they picked up that it was my wife's birthday and we had a prime table for dinner complete with a birthday card.. The food was truly excellent too. Highly recommended.

Friendly welcome, shown to our room which had a lovely view out into the gardens (which are amazing) down towards the beach. Food was very good, both dinner and breakfast. Service was good although they did appear to be short staffed on the Thursday evening. Location - easy access to the beach and stunning coastal walks, the garden is wonderful and a short drive into Falmouth.

Overall a lovely place to spend our anniversary. Only spoilt when we realised that we had not received our complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival and was told when I mentioned it at check out that as it was complimentary there was nothing she could do - no apology, nothing? Shame really as the rest of the staff had been excellent.

Beautiful location with lush valley gardens leading to a secluded beach; the hotel is an elegant but comfortable amalgamation of old and new with gorgeous bedrooms and communal areas, friendly efficient staff and good food. The feel of luxury but not overpriced. We loved it and will definitely return.

Our Valentine Dinner. We had to wait almost 2 hours for our first course which arrived at 9:50 pm, there was a long wait between courses and the food was awful. We did have 3 complementary drinks, and bread rolls whilst waiting. Their reaction to our complaint the following morning, compounded our feelings of humiliation and disappointment. After checking with a member of staff that our complaint was valid, we learnt that the experience was ours alone, and it transpired that there was a problem in the kitchen. The £30 surcharge for the Valentine Menu was removed, but other than that it was apparent that our opinion was not important to them.

The coast path is accessible from here with great walks and outstanding views.

The staff were wonderful! The location was perfect if you want to be in the countryside and near a beach. Our room was large and comfortable and the daily handmade shortbread on the tea tray was a nice little touch. We were impressed with our shower room - all shiny and new with good quality fittings.
