The Sir Christopher Wren is a riverside hotel close to Windsor Castle. It's an "enviable location", says The Daily Telegraph, with "beautiful views of the Thames".
The property consists of a Georgian main building and the contemporary Windsor Wing. It takes its name from the famous architect, who grew up in Windsor.
Windsor Castle—the world's oldest and largest occupied castle—is around five minutes' walk away. It houses some of the most prestigious artworks from the Royal Collection. Tours are available Thursday to Monday.
Hotel facilities include a brasserie with river views that serves modern European cuisine. Wren's Club, just across the courtyard, has a well-equipped gym, sauna, and relaxation area.
Rooms are split between the main house and an annexe near Eton Bridge.

It was absolutely wonderful. My husband booked it for my birthday as I wanted to see Windsor castle again . The hotel was situated near the station so we could park and the castle was within an easy walk close to th shops. It as decorated so beautifully so festive with mince pies on arrival and throughout the stay on reception . The rooms were just magical beautifully decorated and welcoming fires. The meal in the restaurant was perfect and the bedroom so clean and luxurious. I’d recommend it to anyone .

Lovely hotel in the perfect location for exploring Windsor and walks along the River. The staff were excellent very welcoming and friendly. The food in the Brasserie was great. Would definitely be happy to stay again. Just a very small point the heating/aircon in the room was a little noisy when trying to sleep.

The hotel was amazing. Reception staff were lovely and very efficient. The room in the annexe was even better than the room we had in our previous stay.

The mattress was probably the only thing I'd say was maybe not so good - but its not a complaint as I still slept well.

Good location, although the instructions for car parking were a bit confusing.
I packed a dressing gown and slippers and then noticed that they were provided so removed them only to find there were no slippers provided. This list should be updated. Food and restaurant very good.
Service of the staff were trained to a very high standard, very friendly and helpful

Easy to find & a great central location for visiting the centre of Windsor. On arrival the lady on reception said as the hotel was quiet we could have a room upgrade at no extra cost. It was a lovely traditional room with views over the river, very nice. Our evening meal in the brasserie was also very nice with good service. We used our £40 credit against our meal. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Overall our visit to Windsor was most enjoyable.

All excellent although we were a bit daunted by the crowds in the bar prior to dinner. Eventually when this large party were seated for dinner some of the noise died down and we were found a relatively quiet table. It is the one aspect that might put me off booking again, although the staff did all they could to sort the issue.

Brilliant location despite the car park not being adjacent to the hotel. Lovely very clean room overlooking the river had a great shower room. Staff all very friendly and efficient. The food, both for breakfast and dinner, was excellent. I am sure that we will return.
Other Comments
The only negative is that we were allocated a room in the annex (we knew in advance that this may happen) and crossing over in the rain to the main hotel, both in the morning and evening, was an unpleasant experience.

Great location, Brasserie overlooks the River Thames. 5 mins walk to Windsor Castle 5 mins walk across Thames to Eton. Good walk along the riverbank. Brasserie although limited choice for dinner it was very tasty . Excellent breakfast selection. Staff always had a smile. Room spacious but basic. Smallest tv I've seen in a while. Large bathroom , fluffy complimentary bathrobes. Had a room at front of hotel, very noisy early morning by rubbish collection on the Monday morning. Overall happy with our stay

Although we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it, we were extremely disappointed and felt that ut should not be marketed ad a spa hotel. It had no swimming pool, no jacuzzi and claims to have a sauna. However, the sauna is located outside, with shower cubicles outside too. The sauna is like one would have in their garden. I am happy to send photographs to you of the jacuzzi and sauna area and what they look like. We only booked to go for spa facilities and were not able to use anything. The relaxation room was very bare and cold with some lounger type beds. You can not relax in a cold room with no relation music or a comfortable lounger.
Other Comments
Having booked thinking it would offer spa facilities, we were very disappointed. The hotel is very well located and the restaurant was very amiable and furnished to a really high standard. The food was also very nice and the service in the restaurant was welcoming. So I would recommend this hotel to others and certainly use it myself but not for the spa. It,should not be marketed as a spa hotel, because that implies there is a pool and a sauna, steam room as well as spa treatments.

I did not visit the hotel in the end. Unfortunately, I a couple of months ago I tried to change the reservation date with the hotel but the hotel wanted a administration fee of £50 just for us to change the dates. I found this unacceptable and I won't be using Travelzoo again for future bookings.

It was a girlie stay, for a catch up, shopping and chill time. Room was very comfortable & clean, staff very helpful. It is an old style building though, so lots of little steps and sets of stairs, which I don't find that easy, but the staff were very willing to help. The restaurant food was very nice, breakfast was excellent. We also had a wonderful view of the river from our table. It was a great 1 night city break in a beautiful town.

We had problems with the room……. Probably down to maintenance …..we arrived on a freezing cold day in January, the room was cold, took ages to warm up , experienced annoying noises during the night possibly caused by the air conditioning unit. The hotel promptly responded to my complaint and has offered 50% off my account .
