Clean, comfortable, well-equipped room. A selection of vegetarian dishes at dinner and an excellent vegetarian breakfast. Staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Service in the restaurant somewhat haphazard. Lovely countryside location with interesting walks from the door and a relaxed atmosphere in the hotel.
Other Comments
Our room was on the first floor and the floorboards in the room above were very creaky when the occupants were moving around. It's an old building which is part of its appeal and this wasn't a problem for us, but some people might complain. Earplugs were provided. We weren't sure if they were for the floorboards or low-flying aircraft, but either way we didn't need to use them! Nearby Machynlleth has some fascinating buildings and lovely independent shops, including an excellent wholefood shop. The Museum of Modern Art is well worth a visit.

The hotel was super! It was very warm and cosy, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional. Everything of the highest standard. The only minor negative is the location by the main road. Earplugs were thoughtfully provided! Overall absolutely excellent.

Friendly helpful staff. Tasty and plentiful food. Superb location. Old coaching inn, tastefully and sensitively restored and renovated. Full of character, beams, sloping floors…the whole works. Nice walks down to the river opposite the hotel. Lots of birds in the locale. Situated perfectly for visits into the National Park and plenty of attractions nearby. Also on the ‘Mach Loop’ low flying aircraft spectacularly shooting past a couple of times a day. Kind weather. A near perfect two night stay. We will definitely return.
