The layout of the room was impractical. The mattress was worn and uncomfortable. I managed to catch my leg 3 times when getting in/out of the bed due to the gap between the bed and the draw attached to the headboard. The curtain was also too small for the window so light came through at the sides along with road traffic noise as our room looked out onto the M1 motorway.

Very happy with the spacious & well-appointed room.
Very happy with breakfast on Friday morning, but, on Saturday morning, it was very busy & hectic. Lots of items were finished & were either not replenished or you had to wait so long that you gave up.

My starter was not what it said it was, but the staff handled my complaint very well & immediately offered me something else from the limited menu.

Room was well presented, our only issue was the bed which was very uncomfortable.
Housekeeping tried to help with a mattress topper but this was only a quilted duvet type, not memory foam.
By the third night we tried to sleep more comfortably completely on top the duvet too in order to try and soften the mattress. To no avail I'm afraid.
It's a shame because absolutely everything else was excellent.

Overall our stay at the hotel was okay, this was not our first time at the hotel. On this occasion the level of service and attention to detail was not as good as previous visits. . The bar and restaurant seemed to have a lack of management supervision and the young members of staff provided the best service they could but seemed to have a lack of knowledge and direction when providing the service to guests.
The reception was helpful and the rooms were clean and tidy. all of the staff were friendly

Dinner was a disaster. We ordered from Daily Special menu. The restaurant was empty apart from a group of 20. Others arrived and were served food before us. After 40 minutes I asked why delay, waiter checked kitchen and informed meal was being prepared slow cooked. After a further 15 minutes meal delivered. Lamb cutlets undercooked and very rubbery, vegetables comprising green beans, broccoli and baby corn almost uncooked, not al-dente. I managed to eat some My wife couldn’t so changed for fish and chips. Evening ruined so checked out a day early.

Very nice clean hotel, all staff were helpful and polite. We ate two meals in hotel and food was plenty and very tasty and sensible prices. Nicely placed for the area we wanted to explore this time.

Reasons for not staying here again; we found the bed to be too hard to the point of being uncomfortable which is personal of course, also we would of liked a bath with a shower but we were told the rooms all had walk in showers only. I have since been contacted by the hotel to say they do have rooms with baths and have apologised for the wrong information given. We have covered this area now so would look to stay higher up in the peaks next time we visit the area.
