Old building but quite noisy at night and from rooms above us. Very slow breakfast service and wrong order received and not rectified so disappointing.

Great stay in this historic hotel. If you love old buildings this will suit you. Lovely room. Pleasant staff. Wonderful evening meal. Convenient location for town and castle.

My only criticism is it was a bit too cool to relax in the downstairs seating areas as the windows and doors were all open. It was only April.

A well located hotel with so much atmosphere and ambience. There are plenty choices of eating and drinking places nearby, which is a bonus.
The staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast was superb!

Very helpful and friendly staff (in the main). Breakfast was good and plentiful. Rooms spacious and clean.

The receptionist on our arrival could have handled our checkin a little better, in our opinion. We mentioned a request that had been made on booking where we had asked for a bit of leniency around breakfast. As Travelzoo customers we felt she was treating us differently (in a demeaning sort of way). We have enjoyed flexibility in many of our Travelzoo stays in the past so it was unexpected given we had had a conversation on booking and via email about our request.
