What's Included
Valid Sunday–Thursday until 31 March, 2025. Friday and Saturday stays are an extra £20 (payable direct to the hotel)
Overnight accommodation in a Standard or Superior Double Room (subject to availability on booking), with full English breakfast and cream tea, for two
The White Hart Inn is a characterful former coaching inn dating from 1554.
Rustic and hearty British cuisine is served in the dining room. Ingredients are sourced locally, and the bar stocks regional guest ales and Hereford cider.
Winchcombe is a sleepy market town with quaint cottages, boutiques, and a 15th-century church. It was once the capital of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia.
The property is a good base for exploring pretty Cotswolds villages. Day-trip options include Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Moreton-in-Marsh. All are within 30 minutes' drive of the hotel.
Ramblers could pick up either of the Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way trails. Both of these long-distance walking routes pass through Winchcombe.
Voucher Cancellation & Refund Policy:Within 14 days of purchase, Travelzoo will give you a full refund if you change your mind or can't find dates that suit you. Once you book your dates, changes and cancellations are subject to the hotel's cancellation or rescheduling policy and may result in a fee or voucher forfeiture. You must cancel your reservation directly with the hotel prior to refunding your voucher. Vouchers can be refunded online by going to "My Account.” After 14 days, your voucher becomes nonrefundable. For a fee, you can make vouchers refundable until their expiration date when you check out.
Hotel Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy: Once you’ve made your reservation, changes and cancellations are subject to the hotel’s cancellation policy, and must be made at least XX prior to arrival. If you cancel or change your booking in violation of the hotel's cancellation policy, you may be subject to additional fees or voucher forfeiture.
It's a nice old fashioned hotel in a charming location. The service for breakfast n dinner is very good. There is just a bit confusion with our package for the set dinner menu.

Only went because it was a Travelzoo deal somewhere we hadn’t been before. What a good find. Luckily it was the Winchcombe Winter Street Market weekend with stalls packed with local artisan goods. The weather was atrocious (Storm Darragh) but the show must go on especially the Friday evening. Food in the inn was very good and varied. It was packed with customers but plenty of staff to work the bar and kitchen. The library carpark is about 100 yards away and only costs £1 a day

We have decided we will return to explore the local area in better weather conditions (hopefully)

The Inn was very old (16th century) and consequently the stairs to the bedroom were very steep and narrow, I am disabled and I should have made that clear when I booked. Otherwise everything else was fine.

Well worth the visit and extremely good value. The catering was superb.

Not good
Arrived early so called in to see if we could leave our bag somewhere. No signage for check in so asked where at the bar. Got a curt reply of "It's here but you can not check in until 3 " (It was 2-15).
Accommodation was in the next building and involved going back outside in the rain.
If at the top some people would find the stairs tricky to manage - easier for us with a small bag.
When we got to the room it was cold because of two open windows - one we could not close.
As it was blowing a gale (Storm Darragh) I had a draughty night - my side was next to the open window.
Good
The bed was really comfortable. The room/balcony view was excellent. The food was really good.

We have stayed here several times, as it is a good centre for visiting the area. The food is excellent, and the menu is varied and interesting. Staff very helpful, and friendly. Our only gripe was the room we were put in. Previously we have stayed in room 5, in the main building. Spacious and well appointed. This time we were in a very small room ("Preachers") in the building next door. Clean, comfy beds, brand new carpet but cramped. No chairs, so we borrowed a couple of banquet chairs from the function room. Clean bright shower room, BUT you couldn't wash you face in the basin because the vanity unit was in the way. We would certainly return, but not to that room.

The food and service was good.
I recommend that the Wesleyan annex where we stayed should not be used for lodging guests until the stairway between the ground and first floor be repaired to meet local building code.
Other Comments
The major problem we had was the difficulty in getting to our room, the stair treads in the Weslayn where
very narrow requiring us to walk up the stairs sideways, insufficient room to maneuver up the stairway, and insufficient space distance between the floor and the first-floor beam. The first flooring should be replaced, difficult to walk on even with carpeting, a railing would have been helpful. The room was OK but could use a maintenance repair work upgrade. I am surprised that the Travel Zoo approved the White Hart Hotel for being advertised on your website.

Not overly welcoming on arrival! The room was small and not in the main building but above what appeared to be an unused restaurant next door. Also we were not informed upon booking that it was a final exit room. Bathroom tired, door didn’t shut and we had issues with the room entry door sticking!

Very comfortable room, tea making facilities in the room, plus tv.
Excellent value for money, £50 allowance given for the evening meal.
Other Comments
We did miss out on the afternoon tea on the first day, as check in was at 3pm, not 2pm, as stated. We were not told of the time of afternoon tea so we left and came back later, having purchased a hot drink in town. The member of staff should have explained the situation. She could be a little temperamental in her manner.

The building is showing it's age witth uneven floors and peeling paintwork, however the bathroom had excellent lighting and a large modern shower. The beds were very comfortable and it was very clean but the lighting in the bedroom could be improved.
Other Comments
We were unaware that the rooms would be in a separate building to the restaurant and bar, which should be made plain on, or before, booking. They no longer have a set meal/fixed- price menu and we were told our dinner allowance was £29.50 per person which made it virtually impossible to include 3 courses without paying more . This was disappointing, however the food in the main was good particularly breakfast.

We got a parking ticket parking in the recommended car park. When we settled our bill tips were suddenly put upon us. There were no glasses in the bathroom (for toothbrushes). Although the food was fine my wife asked for venison steak and it was very undercooked. She was not given the option to say she would appreciate it well cooked. There was a shower head in the room as part of the bathroom suite but no hook so that the shower could be above the head. We took baths, however, at one time there was no hot water for the bath.

We stayed two nights in November, to visit Sudeley Hall and enjoy local walks. All perfect for this. The hotel was warm, the staff welcoming, the food excellent. Room was a bit worse for wear and needed some tlc and redecorating, but it looked like some renovation was already happening on the landing. Excellent value for money though.

Some friends joined us for an evening meal in the restaurant. They are fairly local to Winchcombe but had never been to the White Hart. They were very impressed - they are vegetarian and found plenty of interesting dishes on the menu. The chef even produced a knickerbocker glory even though it had just come off the menu! We will all be back.
