Why We Love This Deal
The 10-room Albert Cottage is one of the "best hotels on the Isle of Wight" (Country Living). Once owned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, it was the home of their youngest daughter Beatrice. A royal retreat for two is £385, with meals and ferry crossings to the island. You can also opt for stays including tickets to visit Osborne House, the Queen's summer home.

"Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms, staff and food amazing. Bed was so comfortable it was like floating on a cloud, best nights sleep ever. Friendly, cheerful extremely professional staff tending to your every need."
Albert Cottage is a country house hotel with a boutique feel. Original Victorian tiled floors, coving and wood panels, and fireplaces create an atmosphere of period elegance.
The restaurant and bar has views of the garden. It is arguably a fitting spot to indulge in Victorian afternoon tea.
The property is a stone's throw from Osborne House. Walk through opulent state rooms, family suites, and "glorious gardens" (Country Living).
The scenic 68-mile Isle of Wight coastal path covers the entire circumference of the island. The section of the path that connects East Cowes and Ryde is a short stroll from the hotel.
Stuck for Christmas gift ideas? Give a dining, spa, activity, theatre, or hotel experience, and create a memory.

Your voucher will be redeemed for the original booking date, but the hotel will honour the voucher up to 12 months from the original booking date at no extra charge.

Superb evening meal on the first night, lovely room, service at breakfast got progressively worse over the three days, there weren't enough staff available.

Unfortunately we visited during Storm Nelson so couldn't fully appreciate the lovely grounds (Osborne House). Very very convenient for the Southampton ferry (10 mins). Although in the grounds of the house - Albert Cottage is located on a main road which is audible. Staff were helpful and generally very cheery. The food was beautifully prepared by a Gordan Ramsey trained chef and priced accordingly.
Rooms were well appointed (we were lucky enough to have Room 1 - Empress Suite) which is very generously sized with a beautiful ensuite.
Rooms had "standard" provisions, tap water in bottle, instant tea, coffee and a biscuit upon arrival. Bathroom essentials also provided. The tea and coffee and milk sachets were replenished daily but nothing else.
Bed very comfortable and lovely large TV for the stormy evenings. A very pleasant harbour in a rather wet and windy period.

Evening meal was excellent but the breakfast was average!
Bacon and sausage overcooked- no real care taken in providing something freshly cooked which was a great shame!

Historic hotel, about 10 mins walk from Osborne House. Travelzoo deal was great value.
We stated in the Alice room number 10 which was very spacious and tastefully decorated.and contained a large bed, sofa, large TV, desk and coffee table. Separate toilet and huge bathroom with excellent walk- in shower and double sinks. There was a covered courtyard which we did not use. Everywhere was very clean and all staff very helpful, polite and friendly. Bar prices reasonable. Lots of parking and gorgeous gardens.
The evening meal in the restaurant and daily breakfast were excellent and hats off must go to the head chef.
WiFi not great but we found it hard to get a decent signal on the Island in general. A wonderful stay and experience.

Location brilliant, just a couple of minutes from East Cowes ferry terminal. Staff is exceedingly helpful and friendly. Bar and restaurant areas very attractive with food excellent and fresh. Slight down side was the room was tired (though spacious) and the bed not over comfy. However a Welcome Letter explained that the present owner was in the process of renovating the entire hotel. For the cost we paid there couldn't be any arguments though and I would recommend this hotel

We really enjoyed our stay and will definately be returning. My only suggestions would be would be to put thermostats in the room so guests can control the heating. We had to open windows as it was too hot. But this doesn't distract from a lovely break.

The Grade 2 listed premises are characterful & tastefully furnished. On our arrival my wife & I were welcomed by Chelsey. All of the staff members we subsequently encountered were also efficient, friendly & courteous. The quality of the breakfasts was excellent, with a surprisingly good variety to choose from. My wife & I also had two excellent meals at the restaurant (thoughtfully supervised by Phil). In short, we very much appreciated staying at The Albert Cottage. This was despite the dreadful weather conditions.

In response to questions I asked various members of staff. It would seem credit has to be given to the owner for the care & thoughtfulness given to maintaining & improving the premises, and for genuinely caring for the staff working there. All of which in turn is beneficial to guests.
