Mamucium is named after the former Roman fort that was the birthplace of Manchester.
The restaurant is inside the Hotel Indigo Manchester - Victoria Station. It's a Grade-II listed Victorian building which was once a tea warehouse.
The property has been lovingly restored throughout and features eclectic interior décor to reflect its history. This includes traditional iron railings, exposed brick walls, and a glass-covered courtyard. There's also a unique light fixture in the lobby, and bespoke art prints.
Tuck into hearty Sunday lunch classics like pork belly and beef dripping roast potatoes. Pair this with a tasty starter or dessert including crispy courgette fritters or sticky toffee pudding.

Perfect location , 3 minute walk from Victoria Station. Room very nice with a great view over the city.

Sadly the downside was there wasn't a 3 course set meal as per TZ voucher so we had to get food to the value of up to £30 pp. this only allowed us to get a 2 course meal which took over 2 hours due to staff shortage. However breakfast was really nice and lots of choice. Can recommend the afternoon tea with cocktails. The service was exceptional .

The staff were a little confusing with various servers all not liaising with each other regarding our voucher. The food was lovely snd a nice atmosphere as it was tea time and started to fill up after we arrived. We had to question the bill but all was sorted eventually. Would go back again x

I have been to this restaurant a number of times, including stays at the Hotel Indigo. The food has always been very good and it’s rare to be able to say that these days .

Ideal location as attending the Manchester arena. All was good, only issue was they did not have my preferred meal (beef and ale pie). Had the fish and chips, fish was excellent, chips not auite as fluffy as the description.

Well, first off it wasn’t in mamuciium restaurant, but just in their cafe tagged on to reception. But was ok but it was right next to front entrance, people coming and going etc so didn’t have any ambience in that respect. The afternoon tea was a good selection and scones still warm. Cocktail while we waited was nice, lashings of tea afterwards. The waitress was super- efficient and attentive. So nice and relaxing experience.

Food tasty, but the advertised crispy fluffy roast potatoes were not available, so 3 very small boiled potatoes were substituted - not impressed. Also the chosen cheesecake dessert was not available. Staff pleasant, shame that the kitchen was lacking some of the things we were looking forward to eating.

Tried on several occasions to speak to someone to book a table but only succeeded once, after 6pm on the second day of ringing the number provided. Not the actual booking line, had been transferred to the operator. She said she would book a table for us and I'd get a confirmation by text. I didn't so tried ringing again but could not get anyone on any extension. Just cut me off after 2 minutes. So we went on the day I'd booked and Mamucium was closed! Asked at the hotel next door and was directed to their cafe. Gave my details and they took us to a table with reserved on it. Could not understand what the lady said but I guess I had actually managed to book a table. Anyway the food was fine and the staff helpful and friendly, but not easy to understand. Would never go again. Can't imagine how anyone could book a room there because no one answers the phone.

There was some confusion about where we could have our afternoon tea. The voucher said the restaurant but the waitress guided us to the cafe. But the staff handled this well and we were allowed into the restaurant. We were well looked after and the food was great.

Venue is nice, had a good atmosphere... Table layout is a bit odd and where we were sat a "corridor" was created by the booths alongside us which just made it a bit awkward. Staff were lovely, service was a touch slow at points, given it was so quiet. Food was good - really enjoyed the scallop starter, and the sides with the roast beef were great. The beef was ok, a little overdone, and the gravy had an unusual taste. But overall it was a tasty dinner.

Had the two course Sunday lunch which was very good, nice quality food, served hot, pleasant serving staff. The restaurant was quiet but it was three pm, one of the vegetarian options wasn't available as was our first wine choice but we were able to try another wine before we ordered it. The decor isn't to my taste, it seems to be unsure of what it wants to be. I have said I would return but wouldn't like to pay more that the deal.

Gorgeous food and helpful staff. Unfortunately there was zero atmosphere when we visited and only about 6 other people eating - it's a large space so it was very obvious it was pretty empty. Lovely venue but the lack of atmosphere let's it down. They were great with allergens and making alternative dishes.

Booked and called to advise running a few minutes late. No record of my booking made. They don't serve food until 1pm, but booking was for 12.15. Offered us to sit in bar area and wait. The kitchen is open to the restaurant and cooking smells and smoking from the cooking left a cloud in the restaurant. Asked for Aircon to be turned as freezing in there..

I followed the Travelzoo instructions when trying to book & rang several times on 21st and 26th July. On both dates I eventually chose the hotel room booking option & both times having given my email detail etc & voucher number nobody confirmed my booking so eventually I booked via their website.
Upon arrival when I mentioned it to the waiter he said there had been problems since the Microsoft issue but I didn't understand why nobody confirmed the booking by email.
Worst booking situation in all the years I've been with Travelzoo.

Food invariably good but this time not quite as good as previously ( different chef?)
Scallops very good , Roast beef overdone & bit chewy . Potatoes and veg lovely with exception of merely tepid cauliflower. Mango cheesecake/ sorbet lovely once I removed the over set / hard mango jelly.
So bit of mixed bag but I have had many lovely meals there and have another booking to go again this month .
