From the welcome we had on arrival to our departure , the staff and service were great We ate in the restaurant on both nights and the quality of food was excellent, as was the cooked breakfast options. A nice log fire in the bar area, and good choice of draught beers .

As advertised the plough is beautifully decorated and a pleasure to sit in the many areas around open fires and dining areas .rooms are placed to hear very little noise from the establishment in a small hamlet nearby to lots of local walks and attractions .
The food is quality over quantity ,and cost of meals proves this with great ambience, young serving staff very polite and pleasant speaking.

Unfortunately on our two night stay Saturday evening Sunday am we told the staff there was no heating or hot water also, they checked the boiler and said the pressure was down and they’d get it looked at .
We returned Sunday evening from our walk to hear bar staff telling it was cold in the property due to boiler fault awaiting part we asked was this for the rooms also with no heating or hot water . Upon entering g our room they’re was a small heater placed in our room no one told us or spoke to us to what was happening ?dissappointantly no apology from the people in charge ,come checkout Monday morning no mention of an apology or Thankyou for being understanding over the situation so this did marr our stay due to a walking holiday with particular no facilities to wash or shower unless a very cold one so no bathing for our stay ?
