The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa sits in a "beautiful spot" (The Daily Telegraph). The estate is surrounded by 33,000 acres of Yorkshire Dales countryside.
The property is on the Bolton Abbey Estate. It's home to 12th-century ruins and a patchwork of woodland paths.

I was just a lovely day, this is a personal choice, I prefer my meal served on a plate rather than a cardboard box

My friend and I booked this spa experience and really enjoyed it. The staff were helpful and the swimming pool lovely and a nice area to relax in. Our lunch was good although our Caesar salad could have been tastier. We both enjoyed our massages and my therapist, Zahra, was very good worth a lovely touch and was mindful of how I was feeling throughout. All in all we really enjoyed our time there.

Lovely spa and great treatments somewhat let down by the bell tents which were difficult for a tall person to get on & out of, were visibly very mouldy, and had saggy extremely low beanbag type seating - actually looked like a dog bed. Impossible to sit on and get up again. Changing area inside by the spa pool was very small & unsuitable for changing, just 2 showers and 1 toilet in total for women.

Great day, the tents are really good with bathrobes, onesie and everything you need to enjoy the day. It was a hot day so we stayed outside most of the time on the loungers and table and chairs.
Facilities are great, treatments were fabulous and the lunch choices were good.

We had a lovely time at the spa and really enjoyed the bell tent, which was warm and comfortable. The facilities were lovely and clean. Our treatments were gorgeous. Lunch was nice although I’ve just realised they didn’t give us Prosecco, so remember to ask :-)

He was kind, understanding and professional. When he came on duty he came to find us, introduced himself and checked we were oK.

We were greeted nicely and everything was explained well. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Taken to our tents and brought our food and Prosecco out to us. Facial was really good. We all had a very relaxing day. We didn’t n ed them but blankets and onesies to sit out and enjoy the stunning scenery if needed.

We were happy from the moment we arrived until we left. The facilities are lovely. We really enjoyed the lunch, which was brought to us in a wicker basket with a glass of Prosecco. The weather was really kind so we ate outside looking at the beautiful scenery. Facial was great and very relaxing. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a wonderful spa day. The spa is quite small but has a large jacuzzi pool, saunas and steam rooms. There's been an addition of an outside area with bell tents, sun loungers and tables. This is a great addition and makes a big difference. We had the afternoon tea, and it was outstanding. They catered very well for gluten free requirements. The staff are friendly, professionally and attentive. The treatments were excellent. Would definitely go back.

I went with my cousin, we both thoroughly enjoyed the day. The spa is intimate and everything top quality.
All the staff went out of their way to meet all out requests and were both professional and friendly. They fitted us in fir an evening meal, which rounded the day off well.
Best Spa experience in the North.

Food was beautifully presented I hampers. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Treatment was lovely. Beautiful place and attention to detail was 2nd to none

I bought this voucher to share with a girlfriend for her birthday…. And although we had a fabulous time it was made special because it was brilliant sunshine otherwise it would have been quite poor. I think the voucher was very overpriced - it was a sandwich or salad and a slice of cake with a free glass of Prosecco. Was expecting. A proper lunch not a picnic. Because the sun was glorious we spent most of our time outside the teepee. The spa area is only very small. The treatment was very nice but it was a 45 minute express treatment. Think if it had been £95.00 it would have been a fairer price.

Myself and my friend really enjoyed the spa day with a different feel, with bell tent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The facilities were perfect. We did get good weather which was a godsend and added to our enjoyment and created a relaxed atmosphere. Lunch was very nice, just right for the occasion. Meaning could not be too large with swimming, massage etc. Overall good experience and would visit again

Great day. Fabulous service. Duncan was exceptionally welcoming and hospitable. The only down side was the massage itself. 45 minutes and l felt a large proportion of it was the lady opening and shutting drawers or moving round the room. Having had many 45 minutes massage experiences this unfortunately wasn’t a good one.

Fabulous - family celebration, thoroughly enjoyed by all. Beautiful location + venue, spotlessly clean. All staff we're pleasant, polite, friendly + keen to assist. Lovely lunch included - all freshly prepared + very tasty. Great coffees and smoothies enjoyed. Samantha also ensured a nice relaxing treatment. Great atmosphere + even the sun came out to join us !!!

The spa itself wasn’t the high standard I was expecting. It looked tired and in some places in need of cleaning. The food was very disappointing. We had a salmon salad and had barely a few flakes of salmon and it was given to us in a cardboard box. One of the scones was very stale but this was replaced with a fresh one - in another cardboard box! - by a member of staff when I mentioned I couldn’t eat the first one. The treatment was good but not as good as those I have experienced in other spa hotels. Overall everything was just ok - I won’t be recommending it or making a return trip.

A lovely relaxing day with a great signature spa treatment. Therapist was excellent and well knowledgeable about the products. Really enjoyed the bell tent experience which was lovely and cosy as weather was a bit miserable and chilly. Lunch was nice and light. All of the staff were attentive. It was nice that the pool wasn’t over crowded with people.
