Bearslake Inn is a cosy thatched pub in Dartmoor National Park. It sits between the small market towns of Tavistock and Okehampton. An overnight stay with dinner is £129—up to 30% less than usual.

There was only one space left in the car park on arrival which indicates just how popular this establishment is. The front door was beautifully decorated in traditional Christmas style which was a nice welcome, as was the interior. The staff are always pleasant, hard-working and attentive. The food is always delicious. Who knew that everyday staples like soda bread and scotch egg could be divine?

There was no-one to greet us on entry, nor any instruction notice, so we were a bit bemused as to where to go/what to do initially. Didn't realise we should have gone to the bar first with our Travelzoo voucher. Also, we thought out table felt a bit odd 'floating' in the middle of the dining room. Would have preferred to be seated more securely by a window, as it was just the two of us.

Very good. Staff were welcoming and friendly. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Food was good, wine was delicious. Our room was spacious and cozy. Will definitely go back again in nicer weather for some hiking and biking adventures.
