Room could have been better lit; reading was very difficult. Breakfasts were sure superb, evening meal less impressive than on out last visit (many years ago). Ditto wine list.

The hotel is charming in a perfect spot in Pickering. The decor is welcoming, the room is warm and cosy and in particular all the staff were very helpful

Stayed in one of the vintage rooms which had a very comfortable bed, well stocked hospitality tray and mini fridge. Should have asked for one on a lower floor though as my partner has knee problems and there were a lot of stairs! The windows were only single glazed, but fortunately we were not disturbed by noise from the street outside. Staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't eat in the restaurant, but the breakfast menu was substantial and food freshly cooked to order. Handy to have a car park in the centre of town,

Excellent. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good indeed, black pudding is usually overdone and dry but not here also scrambled egg can also be overdone but it was excellent here.
Other Comments
We were upgraded to a Superior Vintage room with a very high four poster bed which required steps to get into bed, a little challenging but very comfortable when you were in.

Lovely welcoming place to stay. The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of choice. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Perfect place to stay when visiting nearby places of interest.
