Why We Love This Hotel

  • The property is set on a quiet lane amidst woodland and pretty gardens. Rooms all have scenic views, and Deluxe Garden Rooms have private outdoor hot tubs.
  • Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and served to you in your room. Produce is locally sourced, including sausage, bacon, and black pudding.
  • Grange-over-Sands is an elegant Victorian seaside resort in Cumbria. You can take a stroll on the promenade, which is 15 minutes' walk away. Or follow the path to Hampsfell Hospice. This hilltop shelter provides views of Helvellyn, the Langdales, and Morecambe Bay.
  • Head into the nearby Lake District National Park for a longer ramble. The villages of Lakeside and Newby Bridge at the southern tip of Windermere are both less than 15 minutes' drive.
  • Pretty Cartmel is a maze of lanes and bridges crossing a little river. This historic village is 10 minutes' drive away. You can visit the 900-year-old priory church at its centre.
  • You can find sandy beaches suitable for bathing and watersports nearby. One of the best is Roanhead beach, around 30 minutes' drive away.

An absolutely fantastic couple of nights. Room was stunning, the garden terrace and hot tub were brilliant and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. It was incredible value for money and I would definitely return.

High standard of furniture and fittings. service was very good but ground floor rooms unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues

Everything is of a high standard so can see how it has a 5 star rating. It has a disabled car space, but facilities for disabled could be better.
Other Comments
The only reason I would not come back is the location. The area is very hilly and I do have problems with mobility.

Don’t expect a hotel, but it is a very well appointed B&B with attention to detail.

Fab room and lovely staff. Great breakfast. Hot tub was perfect in every way and bed was large and so comfortable.
Other Comments
We stayed on a Sunday and Monday - sadly the Grange does not offer evening meals only breakfast ; the town does not have many good restaurants /eating options for a Sunday or Monday - the Bistro being closed on both days and the Pub in town was a no go due to the attitude of the staff to another guest when we arrived (person questioned the bar tender over the food Which did look awful, to be told yeah thats what you get, thats what you ordered - very poor attitude to have with a customer so we walked away) we found a kabab shop selling pizza - really lovely staff and the pizza was tasty - but not ideal food for a romantic get away stay.

Superb hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

Only slight downside is the hill you have to climb back up if you have a walk into the town centre
