The Falstaff is perfectly located for exploring central Canterbury. The hotel does not provide evening meals, but this is understandable given the many good restaurants within easy walking distance. Although parking was not guaranteed, we were able to park our car in the hotel car park for the duration of our stay, Our room had very limited space in which to store and hang up clothes. To summarize, we were very satisfied with the Falstaff.

A lovely 15th century hotel which has been modernised inside to a very high standard. We stayed in a large comfortable room, with direct access to our own private, walled-in terrace, complete with table and chairs. The hotel bar and lounge areas were comfortable, and we enjoyed a couple of their Chaucer-themed cocktails. The hotel is centrally located, and a 15 minute enjoyable walk from the Cathedral. We were in town on Easter Sunday, and attended 2 Cathedral services, with the Archbishop in attendance. A lovely time to be in Canterbury and stay in such a fab hotel!

The Falstaff is a modern and well appointed hotel in a splendid location for the Cathedral, museum and other city centre attractions. The building’s decor is up-to-date, pleasing to the eye and well thought out. Although there is no restaurant at this hotel the standard of the breakfast meal was very good and served with a smile by very friendly and helpful staff. Having no restaurant is not a problem because the location of the hotel has many different and varied eateries within very short walking distances. All in all a very pleasant stay for a couple of days.

i we really loved our stay ,just one thing that spoilt it , we had been in the bar , then we went for a short walk for something to eat as they don`t do meals in the evening, when we got back it was 10pm the girl behind the bar served us a drink then told us the bar was closing , we said ok , then 10.45 and she was still serving the young lads at the bar that had been there all evening , my husband queried this with the lady on the desk , she said that there wasn`t many people that why she maybe shutting ,she was still serving the little click at the bar, we have never stayed in a Hotel that does this , surely residents come before local`s that is why we wouldn`t stay here again , but we loved Canterbury and all the other things with this Hotel ,Breakfast was lovely as was the other staff .

Travelled with friends, waited quite a while for someone to come to reception to check us in, he was not particularly welcoming (not rude) but could have been friendlier. The location is ideal for the station and close to the town. Room was as expected from an old property, small but clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff at breakfast very disorganised no clean cereal bowls had to wait an age for some, fruit not replenished so we didn’t get any. Tea, coffee and food orders not taken in order of seating resulting in several people coming in after us being served before us. The Avocado on toast was very good.

A lovely room. Parking was extremely handy. Very close to the main town. An interesting number of rooms to sit and rest, have a cocktail etc. Bedroom was very well appointed and very quiet considering Canterbury is home to many students that like to party.

Breakfast is very nice but get there early as some products ran out. Pastries and certain breads. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant so no evening meals. Shame really as that would be nice to have. Lots of cream teas being taken on the Sunday. I would recommend staying here if you want to visit Canterbury.

The hotel is so well located to walk around Canterbury. It is a few minutes walk from the Cathedral,or the Roman museum.
Plenty of shopping close by.
Although the hotel had no restaurant, there are many cafes and restaurants a short distance away, to suit all budgets, including Pubs serving food.
The hotel serves an excellent breakfast with a wide variety of choice.

Very comfortable and well-furnished hotel. We'd arranged parking behind the hotel; this wasn't cheap (£12 per night) but definitely worth it in a wet February. Staff mostly friendly, chatty and helpful, particularly the mixologist Tia! Corridors to the rooms are beset by steps and low lintels so watch out tall people, it's an old place! Bedroom was small but mostly comfortable; only carps would be the squishy bed, the dull lighting, the roller blind without a pulley and the inevitable lack of wall-mounted magnification mirror. Ours looked out to the car park, so was quiet; mind you, in the summer there might be noise from the beer garden next door.
Breakfast: menu choice was fine, though it seemed odd to have scrambled egg as the stated main option for full English and not a choice of egg. It's obvious when scrambled eggs (and everything else) have been hanging around for a while. Having said that, the eggs were gloriously yellow and all the rest very tasty. The choice of cereal was very limited and not kept varied, no granola or other non-packet extras, there was freshly prepared fruit but curiously only melon, grapes and pineapple - no prunes/dates/bananas.
These are however minor quibbles. The hotel is in an excellent position for sightseers and for getting out to restaurants, and we'd be more than happy to return for a visit at a drier time.

Using Park & Ride it was an easy 10 minute stroll to the hotel from the bus station. We left our case and enjoyed a lovely afternoon in sunny Canterbury. On our return, we had Room 23 which was a lovely room, such a comfortable bed and perfect en suite at the front of the hotel. The windows were double glazed so no noise. Breakfast was booked at 9am - all beautifully presented with freshly cooked hot food. We spent some of the evening at the Cocktail Bar - delicious-cocktails - thank you Bartender!!
The location was perfectly positioned for the old City and Cathedral. The only downside was no evening meals but we found plenty of eating places practically on their front door so it was no problem. Thank you for making our first visit to Canterbury special!

Spent an enjoyable one night here and out in Canterbury, upgraded room worth the extra, cocktails based on Canterbury Tales characters both interesting and enjoyable, staff sociable, breakfast good and car parking at £12 per night more than acceptable. Hotel is a little quirky but has a charm and character, well worth the visit.

Very happy with the hotel and the staff . I do not think you could you could improve on the location as everything was at hand . The only problem we had was the heating in the room was not working . Clearly the staff new of this but said nothing. I would have thought a portable heater could have been supplied as a short term fix. At night it was very cold to the extent that we had to put our coats over the bed to try and keep warm
