Clean, comfortable, well-equipped room. A selection of vegetarian dishes at dinner and an excellent vegetarian breakfast. Staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Service in the restaurant somewhat haphazard. Lovely countryside location with interesting walks from the door and a relaxed atmosphere in the hotel.

Our room was on the first floor and the floorboards in the room above were very creaky when the occupants were moving around. It's an old building which is part of its appeal and this wasn't a problem for us, but some people might complain. Earplugs were provided. We weren't sure if they were for the floorboards or low-flying aircraft, but either way we didn't need to use them! Nearby Machynlleth has some fascinating buildings and lovely independent shops, including an excellent wholefood shop. The Museum of Modern Art is well worth a visit.

The hotel was immaculate. All the staff were efficient and pleasant. The award winning breakfast (and all breakfasts) were excellent.

The food portions were a little two large for us and therefore some of the vegetables were wasted which was unfortunate.

The hotel was super! It was very warm and cosy, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional. Everything of the highest standard. The only minor negative is the location by the main road. Earplugs were thoughtfully provided! Overall absolutely excellent.

Friendly helpful staff.
Tasty and plentiful food.
Superb location.
Old coaching inn, tastefully and sensitively restored and renovated. Full of character, beams, sloping floors…the whole works.
Nice walks down to the river opposite the hotel.
Lots of birds in the locale.
Situated perfectly for visits into the National Park and plenty of attractions nearby.
Also on the ‘Mach Loop’ low flying aircraft spectacularly shooting past a couple of times a day.
Kind weather.
A near perfect two night stay.
We will definitely return.

This is probably the best Inn I’ve ever stayed at. The exterior is nice but unassuming the interior however is absolutely beautiful. The Inn is ancient but has been renovated to such a high standard with all the original oak beams visible and the original character maintained. The Inn is warm with good water pressure and the room we stayed in was beyond anything I was expecting (room 8), with its role top bath, comfy sofa and slanty floor. If you have a dog then there’s no where more welcoming than Brigands Inn. The staff can’t do enough for you or your four legged friend. Finally I can fully recommend the food as both the breakfast and dinner were both of the highest standard. The Inn is well suited as a base to explore mid/North Wales.

A gem of a hotel, set in a lovely area, ideally situated to visit coastal towns and attractions . The owners were very friendly and welcoming, as were the staff. The food was delicious and plentiful. Nice to have the little touches that many hotels now lack, biscuits, more than one sachet of coffee and sugar, a bottle of water!

Charming with the warmest of welcomes and care from all staff. Delightful experience. The Inn is clearly run by highly experienced owners. Time for the individual is given. So refreshing when compared to the soulless corporates
Can't recommend this Inn and its approach highly enough.
